A treasure trove of textile beauties. Jane made us very welcome while we discussed the merits of different colour combinations in the blankets. My husband bought me a stunning antique blanket for my birthday...the pleasure of choosing it was part of the present. Thank you Jane.

I have been waiting months to visit here and yesterday drove for 3 hours to get there. I was not disappointed. Jane was very welcoming and made us a cup of tea, then went on to explain about the different blankets, their history and the history of the mills. We were made to feel very comfortable in basically turning the shop upside down, getting out different blankets to look at all whilst chatting away and getting to meet Binky the dog. There is so much in this shop as well as blankets, lots of other beautiful things, such as hot water bottles, phone cases, purses, photo albums etc. Once I had made my purchase, jane helped us with suggestions of other things to do for the rest of the day, places to visit and eat. I will definitely be going back soon. I am so pleased with my beautiful blanket. Definitely a place to go and have a look around, in a beautiful setting aswell

Third visit : Second review . So many wonderful things to see in this amazing store and an owner who is generous in sharing her extensive knowledge of welsh textiles . First things first , the shop does take a bit of finding first time - don’t be put off , it is well worth the effort . The welcome is genuinely warm ( how many shops do you visit where the first question is “would you like a cup of tea ?” ) ; the stock on display is extraordinary in every sense of the word ; there is no hard sell whatsoever - you are welcome to spend as much time as you like looking at whatever takes your fancy . Expert advice and comment ( and stories and as many technical details as you want ) are available as/if wanted but certainly aren’t pushed at you .

Spent a lovely half hour talking all things Welsh blanket. Jane’s knowledge is unique and if you want to know all about these lovely creations then this is a go to destination. Bought a beautiful welsh bear and discussed the history of the carthenni - will visit again very soon

I called in to this shop on a lovely summer's day in August. Jane Beck was helpful at first - ( although she was very distracted by the fact that another potential buyer who arrived at the same time as us had not bothered to stay! Nothing to do with me ! ) I chose two blankets which she opened for display. I decided on one which was the colour scheme I liked and bought it. When I had returned home and opened it out properly- in the daylight I saw two quite large ugly mends in it and a hole. I immediately phoned her to discuss this.She immediately lost her temper and was abusive and incredibly rude.It was my fault she said for not examining it and buying it in good faith. I advise others to look elsewhere.

This is not quite true, This lady spent over an hour in the shop , she was given a cup of tea & invited to spend her time looking at the blankets. Customers are always invited to "make a mess" and I spent quite some time talking to her about the blankets. She chose and paid for a rare antique blanket and had ample time to inspect it at her leisure. Antique blankets are not always perfect, some have repairs & damage. 30 days LATER she rang to say she had just found the repairs to the blanket and was very aggressive on the phone insinuating from the start that it was my fault.

After having found Jane’s blanket shop on line I decided to combine shopping with a short break and booked a shepherd’s hut for a few nights.
What a fabulous place: quiet and breathtakingly beautiful. There was a resident red kite turning circles over the field, a family of newly hatched blue tits, some nuthatches and plenty of sparrows.
I slept like a log in my cosy hut, woke to make tea on a portable gas stove and spent the days exploring. Being off grid was the best break allowing me to read more than I have in a long time and really unwind.
Jane is a lovely host, very welcoming and kind. The shop is an Aladdin’s cave of blankety treats. Can’t wait to come back.

Amazing range of stock , a super friendly and welcoming owner who is happy to share her knowledge and passion for Welsh blankets and all in delightful surroundings . This is a real one-off which is highly recommended . Well worth a journey and if you’re in the area is surely a must see .

Had the pleasure of staying the night in Bwncath Shepherd Hut (Welsh for Buzzard). What a peacefully relaxing stay. Lovely Shepherds hut, decorated to a high standard. Lots of heat off the Wood burner. Had a nice barbeque for supper. Lovely fresh eggs sold here too, had boiled eggs for breakfast.

Called on the off chance yesterday on the way home from a rather wet week in North Wales . Had seen the photos on the website but was still very impressed with the quality and quantity of blankets , cushions, clothing etc on offer and Jane's knowledge of Welsh mills. Bought a beautiful tapestry blanket that I have wanted for a few years. Beautiful condition , it looks wonderful in our lounge. Will be returning when we decorate our bedroom!

After finding the most beautiful blanket upon our bed whilst staying at a local hotel we set out to find this shop/emporium...and it was well worth the visit. The place is fabulous and bursting with blankets old and new in every design you can imagine. Jane was so helpful and informative, we loved the place. And we have ordered a blanket to be made....can't wait!!!
