It is outside the City wall along the northwestern edge of old San Juan. The easiest way to get there is to go out the San Juan Gate and head north towards El Morro. Conversely, if you are at El Morro, ask for directions to Paseo del Morro and follow it. Once you get around the western edge of the fort, you will start seeing cats everywhere.

I don’t know but they have a kitten room and the workers were busy when we got there around 11am.

Hi Amanda, The cats are all outside. They come and go into the casita through holes in the doors and walls. The only cats that are in cages are ones that are being treated for illness, or that have been recently trapped and are awaiting a trip to the vet to be 'fixed'. Once that is done, they are typically released the next day. The casita is also quite small, and filled with one or more volunteers cleaning and feeding the cats that are caged. So, the direct answer to your question is; the casita is an old building and not really wheel chair friendly. The area surrounding the Casita, it grass and dirt, so not so good to push a chair around, but if someone parked you up near one of the benches and you had some 'Temptations' treats, the cats would come to you. The cobblestone streets and hills will be hard on you in a chair I would think, but if you go down to the Paseo del Morro at sunset, you will find yourself among three or four cat colonies or maybe 300 cats! Just bring treats, the friendly cats will come up to you once you rattle the bag.

Hola! Debes hacerte cargo de los gatitos por lo menos 4 meses, con su mamá lactandolos si es posible. Una vez ya tengan dientecitos hay que llevarlos a operar inmediatamente junto con su mamá. "Ojo", si no tienes dinero has alguna actividad comunitaria con el propósito de obtener suficiente dinero como para vacunarlos y esterilizarlos. Luego de esto puedes llevarlos a un veterinario o una tienda de animales que los quiera ofrecer para adopción. Además pudieses tú postear en Facebook que los gatos se están dando vacunados y esterilizados a un dueño responsable.

Thanks for that, Iam now back in the UK. I took the cat to the vet & I went to an animal sanctuary called Tara they are helping me get her back to good health, & have started the ball rolling for her to back to the UK, hopefully 3/4 weeks after rabies vacs etc. thank you
