Sea glass. white sand, a sad sight

The sand was good but there was trash up near the cement barrier. Found lots of sea glass there as it is everywhere. The water was warm and good but was a bit worried about glass with all the sea glass I found. All of the sea glass I found had rounded edges and not fresh broken glass. Upon leaving we walked down to the chair rental/hut to leave the beach that way. In the parking lot up behind the cement barrier was a deceased dog with another dog next to it itching viciously. There were a lot of locals there and they did nothing for the dogs. I contacted a local rescue but they could not help as they are at overflow. It was a horrible feeling of helplessness to not be able to do anything. It is a nice beach away from Junkanoo which is the tourist beach. After this experience I am not sure I would go there again.

This is a beautiful beach right beside Junkanoo but not quite as crowded. Lots of this to rent for water activities. Beautiful water to swim in with great views and a couple piers to walk out onto for pics and views. We left our pile of things on the beach and lots of people passed by but nobody touched it. I read there was lots of broken glass and garbage but we didn’t see that at all. Very clean other than some seaweed.

Qusta spiaggia è il naturale proseguimento di quella di Junkanoo . Molto meno turistica e anche un poco abbandonata è divisa in due parti una completamente aperta e una con altissime palme .
La vista è meno suggestiva perchè di fronte c'è il prolungamento dell'isola dell'Atlantis ma comunque piacevole per un tuffo in acque tranquille come si vede nelle foto che allego

Aparentemente é a mesma praia que Junkanoo Beach, mas algumas pessoas dizem que fica ao lado.
Mar realmente maravilhoso, muito perto do centro de Nassau. Estacione bem pertinho dali em um recuo da West Bay St....
Indo mais para direita, a praia tem vários barzinhos / restaurantes, onde voce pode usar a cadeira se comprar algo. A parte mais a leste é bem cheia com o povo que vai no cruzeiro. Aparentemente mais para a esquerda fica a Western Esplande Beach, onde tem algumas arvores e bem menos pessoas e estrutura, mas com um visual tão lindo quando.
É para curtir a vista de Paradise Island e relaxar. Neste lado mais a oeste nós paramos o carro e andamos apenas.
Recomendo!

Great beach but found a lot of broken glass

We went here after visiting Fort Charlotte. Beach was not at all crowded but it could have been the cloudy weather. We had gotten off our cruise ships and there were 4 other ships on the terminal as well. We took the jitney bus 12b to get to fort charlotte. We enjoyed dipping our feet in the water. Too cold to swim. Shore was a little rocky and we found a lot of broken glass pieces (mostly blunt). About 30 pieces or so. So, we spent some time collecting and throwing them away. We got back to the ferry terminal by foot- 15 -20 min walk.

Estuvimos el pasado mes de septiembre haciendo parada con el crucero. No teníamos ninguna excursión reservada con el crucero y buscamos una playa cerca del barco a la que pudiéramos ir a pie. De camino pasas por la zona Downtown donde puedes ver las tiendas de souvenires, etc...La playa es pequeña pero muy bonita y limpia, con aguas preciosas, también tiene alguna zona con arboles donde te puedes tumbar.

A Beach with no facilities

A beach near downtown Nassau and close to the Arawak Cay (Fish Fry). This beach
joins the Junkanoo Beach. Which is more frequented by tourists from the cruise ships, because it has more facilities, And is closer to the downtown. So if you are looking for a quiet beach, rest and peace. You have to be here. But i have heard that it can be very busy with locals during the weekends. Be aware that this beach has no facilities. You have to bring your own beach bed/ Chairs. At the end of Arawak Cay there are some bars/ small eateries near the beach. But they open late. Sonia's Jerk is one of them. I have eaten some Jerk chicken and jerk spare ribs there. But I cant say that it was heaven.

There is a boardwalk leading you all the way to Junkanoo Beach. I would not choose to go to a beach like this. Because it has no facilities. The beach itself is beautiful., The first part has palm trees. The second part doesn't. And that's it. I can imagine that some people would love it here.

Beautiful beach and walking distance from the cruise terminal

Went to the beach after a walking tour of Nassau. The sand was great and the water was beautiful. The kids went snorkelling but there wasn't much to see, so probably not a great snorkelling spot.
