Currently (October 2023) the last 4 km of the road to Kita are closed. There is a barrier that prevents taxis from Stepanzminda from going any further. On the other side, taxis from Kuta are waiting, covering this distance for the horrendous price of 50 GEL (there) or 100 GEL (return). - The valley itself is completely parched in October, the waterfall practically non-existent. Given the circumstances, currently only 3 stars. Any Alpine valley is more worth seeing.

Closed road...

Unfortunately, the road to Juta, 4 km before the village, is closed by a barrier.... No reason for this is stated or can be found anywhere.... This means an extra 4 km walk uphill and 4 km back...

Best place on earth!

No influencers, no BS. Worth a visit for a couple of nights, there are a few mountain huts with exceptional views. I would choose this over the crowded Gudauri.
Juta is never mentioned in any blog or travel instagram, its truly a hidden gem.
We stayed at Pirdapira and it was absolutely perfect! There are other options such as fifth season.
It exceeded my expectations. The hike, the stay, the food, everything was astonishing, one of a kind experience! 1000/10 would recommend!

Nice hike, take care of when you go.

Up from the village the hike itself isn't too difficult, though in May there were still quite some snow patches to plow through.
Once you reach the end of the valley the path seemingly ends, though it's possible these just weren't visible to us.
It's not all that long and due to the shape of the valley you can run into other hikers all the time, which gives it a different feeling from Trusso, where you'd feel "alone in the world".
Worth the day trip!

Beautiful views and nice hike!

What a gorgeous hike! Absolutely stunning valley. Real nice to have a picknick as well. The drive to Juta is a dirt road which you can easily do with a 2 wheel drive car. Hiking boots are not necessary, just some good sneakers will do too.

Awesome landscape, fresh air.

Went there in a snow hike this month. Great place, located 2230 m in altitude and in between Kazbegi natural park as a fresh and pure air to breathe. The landscape is overwhelming. If you like fresh air and nature on the best, and also like to walk that's a great place. In the village there's a sauna and some accommodation.

絶景が楽しめる比較的簡単な日帰りトレッキングルート

歩いてすぐの10分ほどは登りですがそれからは目の前にChaukhi山を見ながら1.5時間でchaukhi lakeに到着します。その先はRoshkaまでのトレッキングルートが伸びていますが私たちは折り返しでの日帰りトレッキングを楽しみました。10月だったせいかJutaの村の大きなホテルのレストランは閉まっていました。

Daytrip to Juta

We traveled by 4x4 minibus from Tbilisi to Juta and the drive itself was very nice with lots to see along the way. The drive into Juta is a slow drive on a gravel road, along a gorge which opens up into the actual valley. We also saw hikers and people doing the trip with bicycles but be well prepared before taking these options. The valley itself is very beautiful and is used by sheep herders in summer months. During the winter snow prevents people from going in, according to our guide. For photographers Juta is a paradise.

تذهب بالسيارة الى قرية جوتا وتقابل الانهار والشلالات ثم تذب مشيا على الاقدام لمدة ساعتين حتى تصل الجبل ممكن تخيم هناك ثم ترجع ولمدة ساعتين طبعا تاخذ معك الاكل والشرب لانه السعر هناك غالي قليلا

Op een stralende dag met een Jeep naar Juta om 4 km te klimmen naar een berg meertje. Eerste 300 meter is een fraaie aanloop om vervolgens gelijkmatig verder te stijgen. Fraaie vergezichten. Goed beloopbare paden. Paar ondeugende paarden ons kwamen opzoeken bij het passeren van een berg riviertje.

Aanrader voor de niet geoefende loper. Goede wandelschoenen is aan te bevelen.
