Tuesday 23rd January we visited Wat Tham Phanthurat, Monkey Temple, where this Cave is located in the grounds of the Temple.
Our Tour Guide led us into the Cave on the outskirts of the Temple compound. We entered into a large tiled chamber in the Cave, this is where the statue of Buddha is located in the sitting position, draped in a saffron coloured cloth.
We ventured deeper and deeper into the Cave which took us into a small chamber. Here we stood on a narrow small ledge looking over, with the light from our guide's phone, we could see the lake below. This is the source of water for the Temple. It was a bit scary and only for the brave hearted to look down.
Outside the cave there was a number of qwerky statues, which added to the enjoyment of visiting here.
When visiting this Cave would recommend bringing a torch or using the light on a phone as the ceiling is rather low in places and the floor can be slippery and not very well illuminated.
