They canceled our trip saying the boat was unavailable despite being booked 3 weeks in advance. Gave us 14hrs notice and it was too late to find another charter. Extremely disappointed in this company.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback with us. We sincerely apologize for the inconvenience you experienced with the cancellation of your trip, and we understand the frustration it caused, especially with the short notice.
Upon thorough investigation, we discovered that the boat you initially booked was undergoing urgent maintenance, and unfortunately, we were unable to confirm it for your trip. We did our best to offer alternative options, but we understand that they did not meet your expectations, and for that, we are truly sorry.
To make amends for the inconvenience caused, we have processed a full refund for your booking. While we understand that this doesn't erase the negative experience, we hope it demonstrates our commitment to addressing the situation. Additionally, as a gesture of goodwill, we would like to offer you a future discount on our services. We genuinely regret any disappointment you may have experienced, and we assure you that we are taking steps to ensure a more reliable and improved experience in the future.
We appreciate your understanding and hope to have the opportunity to serve you better on a future occasion. If there's anything else we can do to regain your trust, please don't hesitate to reach out.

We went out with Jaime and his wife for a friends birthday party trip. Jaime and his wife were great and did what they needed to do to get us on fish and get them in the boat! The best part was Jaime taking one of the fish from our catch and making fresh ceviche with it for the trip back! We will definitely be coming back!

This is a booking agency, even though it leads one to believe the boats are their own. I booked through them because I was under the impression they owned the boats and staff were directly employed by them. This is incorrect. There is also a discrepancy in the policy for cancellation.
There are many missing details in the bookings and although you can say where you want to go, it doesn’t mean that’s where you will go even though it’s what the price is based on.
We had specific wishes for what we wanted to target and where we wanted to fish. We are very experienced with deep sea fishing. We have no problems with sea sickness.
There is no point where the experience level of the people going fishing are discussed. I suppose the Captain is to figure this out upon meeting the people. However, it would make more sense to discuss this in advance for everyone’s safety.
There was no safety discussion upon boarding or how to call for help in case of emergency, especially if going far offshore. One of the boats we were on died on the way back it. It travelled more slowly both ways than it should have and I suspected something was wrong but they didn’t seem concerned so I trusted their experience. The Captain was able to repair the engine in a short time and we were underway again. I do know how to use the radio and wasn’t overly concerned for getting help if necessary.
They represent the crew to be English speaking and while some do speak English well enough, others are very limited.
There is no real information on where to park if driving to meet a boat or helpful info where that is concerned. We drove to the meeting place the day prior and sought those things out for ourselves.
There were some extra port fees that seem to have been just made up in some situations. We never actually had to pay any.
Each of the boats had a fighting chair though not necessarily attached to anything.
One thing that I found unacceptable was the lack of ice for the caught fish. There was limited ice in the cooler for drinks and that was pretty much all even though ice is readily available in Puerto Vallarta.
The first boat we booked (a 36’ for a 10 hour trip 35+ miles offshore) did have a big block of ice. The 27’ (8 hrs) had nothing. The 26’ (8 hrs) had a live well and what would fit in there did until they were prepped and bagged and thrown in with our drinks. Drinks were on ice. The larger fish went into a hold without ice. The 150+ pound Marlin we unexpectedly caught was longer than the boat was wide and they could only throw a blanket over it and keep it wet. We fished around it. They ended up keeping the majority of it. It’s just expected they get to keep some of the catch in addition to gratuities. I would prefer to offer than be asked. We typically share quite a substantial portion anyway. Yet is like buying a cake from a baker and the baker asking to keep part of the cake.
The fishing gear onboard was good quality and maintained, where that was concerned, but live bait was minimal. They did have fishing belts.
Each boat was from a different tour operator. There was no possibility to communicate in advance or specify anything that is actually translated.
We had a problem with the 2nd boat (operated by NaTures) which was the 27’. It was Dia de los Muertos. The Captain had two helpers (one too many for sure on this size boat with two of us as well) and he let them know he had no plans to catch and have to clean fish on this day. They set the reels incorrectly so every fish on would be lost. When we tried to correct it, we were told no. After “losing” multiple fish in the area we selected to go, he moved us into the bay where we didn’t want to go. We caught one Bonita and when I said we now have bait for wahoo, I was told Bonita are delicious. If you are a wahoo, they are! I heard the Captain tell his mates we should better go fishing in a lake near where we would go visit our family! He did not know I was listening or understood. I opted out of a confrontation at sea.
We were retuned promptly on time and told them Bonita is no good to eat because it’s a dark meat. Therefore, he kept it. He told me we had bad luck because it was dia de los muertos. The fact is, we had a bad Captain who had no interest in putting us on fish he would then have to clean. I gave him a 10% tip which was undeserved and filed a complaint with the agency for a refund on that day. I received no call nor real response other than they would notify the tour operator to help them improve. I will notify AMEX.
We were thrilled to catch our first ever Marlin but the 26’ boat was too small really to handle it properly. The guys did their best and we continued to fish. I caught one good size Dorado and we earlier caught several
Spotted mackerel. It was our 3rd and last day fishing. A great day it was.
I suppose one of the things which bothered me the most was the disinformation on fish limits. None of them had the same answer and I directly relate this to self interest in them keeping fish to eat or sell, whichever, and not having anything published to refer to onboard that was factual. In talking about limits on our first boat, one of the guys asked if I had read the regulations. I had, which is how I knew the others were not being truthful.
The first boat we were on, I would use again, with some agreed modifications.
The second, I would never use, ever.
The third had great guys but the boat just wasn’t well set up for the fishing we were doing in relation to the fish we caught. The guys really were fun to fish with, encouraging as my arms begin to ache well into getting the Marlin that weighed more than I do to the boat, pointing out whales jumping and playing nearby as well as Flipper and friends. They took us to where we wanted to go and more.
In short, if you just want to be on a boat to go fish and pot luck is ok, this agency will provide this. If you look for serious, well provisioned charters with generally accepted principals in place, look elsewhere. It’s worth the time to make calls to owner operators for a great experience.
The fish aren’t always biting and some days are simply uneventful. When the birds are active, there are fish, and a good Captain knows where to find what based on the season and circumstances. They will also give you honest info on whether it’s active or not and what time the tides are most likely for catching fish then suggest a trip based on those parameters. This is a key reason booking with an agency is not optimal because customer service reps have little to know knowledge of these factors.
One of my favorite responses from Hugo on our first boat when my non-Spanish speaking significant other asked “where are all the fish?”, without missing a beat, Hugo replied “In the water!” His giant smile made me laugh out loud as he’s no doubt been asked this many times and it was one of the phrases he understood well. 😉

I can’t tell the story without getting choked up. I was telling my buddy and his son my big fish story, doing impressions of my dad instructing (yelling 😆) me about how to reel, set the drag, keep the tip up, KEEP THE TIP UP SON! HES TIRED NOW REEL HIM IN! HES RUNNING LET HIM RUN! NOW REEL! KEEP THE TIP UP! That day 32 years ago I caught the monster of a lifetime, a 40 LB king salmon, when I was 11 years old. “IT WAS THIS 🙌 BIG!” At that precise moment…. BOOM!!! The deep line hit! Fish on! HOLY JESUS FELLAS THIS IS A MONSTER! My father was watching me, he was with me in that moment. I could hear his voice again, for the first time in years. KEEP THE TIP UP, SON! YOU GOT HIM! This monster fought so hard he just dove with the line like ZZZZZZZZ!!!! I had to wrap my legs around the pole to keep from getting yanked off the boat! It took all my strength to even turn the reel over one time. I fought this fish for 20 minutes and when I finally brought it in it was the biggest roosterfish anyone had seen in the bay in YEARS! 51 inches and about 100 lbs! THEN…. My buddy’s son got a bite! After an intense battle he reeled in a 92” sailfish! An epic father/son memory for all time! Just like me and my dad. The Shamrock 10/10. A real miracle happened for all of us that day. My dad is still fishing from heaven.

Ricky is the coolest ever! We went on a six hour boat wide with my three friends and I and we had a blast! He took us snorkeling and we went to a gorgeous beach and had the best tacos I’ve ever had! There were two other guys working for him on the boat (Luis and Javier) and they were both very sweet and accommodating. Would definitely take another trip with them. They even caught us two fish and let us real them in! 10/10 would ride again! Ps.Tequila and 420 friendly😋

We had an amazing time on this charter fishing trip. One of the highlights of our Mexico trip. We had a four hour charter for fishing in Bandera Bay and we had fish in the line within 30 minutes. The crew were happy and helpful giving you as much ir as little assistance as you want and they even took one of our catch and prepared fresh ceviche for us to snack on at the end of the trip. Wow.

Juan and Juan (father and son) took my family of 6 out on Barbara. It was an amazing day! We caught lots of fish and he whipped up fresh ceviche that was the best I have ever had right on the boat! Then he Filleted several fish to send with us! We took the fish to Maizul restaurant in Nuevo Vallarta and they cooked it up 3 different ways and it was delicious! We also got to see dolphins and whales on our way to and from. When we come back to Mexico, we will be reaching out to Hugo for Juan and Juan to take us back out on Barbara and this time for a full day!

Juan 1 and Juan 2 took us out on the Barbara a 36 footer. We were looking for fish to eat not trophies. We began catching fish as soon as we got to the fishing area they recommended. We were catching Bonita, 33 fish in all. At times we had 2 and 3 fish on at one time. We kept enough filets for a wonderful meal prepared by the chef at our resort. Our trip was arranged by Puerto Vallarta Fishing.net and they were very helpful. We put a 50 percent deposit down online however the balance was due in cash when we showed up. It would be much easier if we could have used a credit card for the balance.

When fishing in puerto Vallarta is it catch and release or can I ship fish home like I do from Alaska?
เขียนเมื่อ 25 กุมภาพันธ์ 2019
Hola!
In Puerto Vallarta you're free to decide if you want to catch and release, or if you want to take the fish with you.
If you want to keep the fish, the crew will help you clean it and fillet it for no extra charge!!
It is really important to mention that if you want to take the fish home, you will need to well-froze it and take it in a leak-proof container. The amount you can bring back will be subject to the airline/cruise ship restrictions, in which case we totally recommend you to contact them in advance to be prepared ;)
You may contact us directly for more details for an amazing fishing trip while you're here, just scroll up on this page and get in touch, Puerto Vallarta Tours is here to help!

How much does it cost per person for a 6 hour trip?
เขียนเมื่อ 16 มิถุนายน 2018
They rent the boats by the hour not the number of people. There are many companies and prices. Depends on what you want to do as well. Cruise around the bay or fish. Then big game fishing or just to make some fresh ceviche on the boat.

Coming to garza Blanca Saturday....anyway to catch a Marlin?
เขียนเมื่อ 2 สิงหาคม 2017
There are marlin in the water this time of year, not highest season for marlin (that is in the fall) but there have been several catches. You can check out our fishing calendar on our website by clicking the "website" link at the top of the listing and then "the fish" to get more details. Have an awesome time, and please let us know if we can get you on the water to give it a shot!

Hey there! Loved reading your reviews.. I'll be there from 3/28/17 to 4/04/17, and definitely want to go out. I'll be alone, so I'd just like to sign on with whatever party you have...not looking to rent the whole boat for myself, will split with others. Would love to focus on Tuna, but am open to Marlin and others if thats what the group is after. You can reach me at 408-309-9066..
เขียนเมื่อ 25 กุมภาพันธ์ 2017
Hi John! While we don't currently arrange shared trips, what most of our fishermen do that want to split a boat is to book the boat so that you're sure you have one. Then try to hook up with others on the internet or at your hotel to see if they'll split with you. If they do, you can work out the share between you, where they pay you directly. If you don't well at least you have a boat and get to go fishing!
Doing it this way will help ensure that you get the best possible experience, since you'll be able to screen the folks that you will go out with and make sure their interests and personalities are compatible with yours, and also instead of one line per person like on a shared trip, you may get up to 3 for example if you shared with one other person, which means 3 times the chance of catching fish!
You can make your booking on our website by clicking the "website" link in the upper right portion of this page. We also have English speaking customer service representatives standing by to help you with anything you need via phone, live chat, email Skype or even Facebook!
We look forward to fishing with you!

Hi there! We are happy to assist you with matching the right trip for you. However this is a more in depth discussion so better suited for direct communication - can you please email us your question, or contact us through our Facebook page, Live Chat, or toll-free phone number? This will allow us to find out more information so that we make the best recommendations for you.
You can see all our contact information on our website by clicking the "Website" link in the upper right of the page and clicking "Contact Us".
We look forward to the opportunity to show you a great time on the water!
