Pancho and the rest of the crew on Boat 1 were outstanding! Highly entertaining and informative throughout the whole excursion. Never felt rushed, plenty of time for each stop. Would highly recommend

We had a blast! Issa and the crew from Boat 6 were geeat and made the trip a ton of fun. They were all kind, helpful, and very attentive. While the snorkeling was a bit short, it was still enough to get to enjoy Marietas and the different sea life surrounding the island. From there we were able to enjoy paddle boarding, kayaking and banana boating on el Playa Majauitas. At the end of the trip we even got our own concert from Issa and the crew 😂Overall I would highly recommend going on this trip when visiting Puerto Vallarta.

I want to start of by saying the Extreme Adventure was something that was chosen by someone else in our large party and not something I would have chosen to do otherwise. If you are an “extreme adventure” kind of person, you will probably have a great time. With that caveat, here are the pluses and minuses of my experience:
POSITIVES: on the surface everyone is very nice and has good energy. Briyon, the ATV driver, especially is very kind. It’s expensive but when you think about all their safety measures, staff numbers, vehicle transfers, and number of activities,it is a fair price. If this is your cup of tea, you will probably have a great time.
NEGATIVES:
some of the the guides are low level sick of tourists and you can tell. I don’t necessarily blame them but people are still paying a lot of money to be there and it is crappy to feel a level of disdain from people. For example, at the sky diving tunnel I overheard someone not in my party who had obviously never done it before ask about doing flips and such. Instead of just telling the guy this is harder than you think and we are just going to concentrate on basic form type stuff he was asked how many hours of training he had in the tunnel.
There are limited opportunities if you want to bow out. My adult daughter and I decided fairly quickly that zip lining was not for us and that we wanted to stop. We were able to quit but were definitely treated differently once we did. We also were not allowed to get our stuff back or to go back to Puerto Vallarta despite many vans leaving to pick up more groups. We had to stay until our whole TOparty was done. Mind you, this is six hours. We weren’t asking for a refund because it’s not their fault we didn’t like it. We did decide to rejoin the group for non-zip line activities but we both would have preferred to go do something else with our day. My husband also didn’t want to do the pendulum swing because he is a weight lifter with a lot of heft to his body and the gear was causing him some, um, down there discomfort. They had a repelling point at that activity and asked to repel down rather than swing. He was made to swing and did injure himself as a result.
They are, understandably, about getting people through as quickly as possible. This means you better listen to instructions and synthesize that information quick. If you get scared or freeze they are going to give you a friendly shove. My 10 year old got one. I’m not saying this is bad. They’ve got a schedule and there’s not time for you to be up there frozen in fear. I’m just saying if you’re on the fence and using this experience to overcome a fear, don’t expect coddling.
Finally, the thing that really annoyed me: the cost of the pictures. You obviously can’t take cell phones because they can’t be flying out of your pockets. So they have photographers taking pictures the whole day. In other places we have paid quite a bit of money for photo packages. We spent a couple hundred at Disney for a whole week of pictures. They wanted $230 American dollars for the DIGITAL pictures from one day. Um, no thanks. We probably would have paid $75-100 but adding in picture costs this would have been over $1k for the day for our party.
Again, if this kind of experience is your thing, go for it. I don’t regret doing it but we wouldn’t do it again.

This was an excellent excursion. So much so that we are doing it again in June. The customer service the whole day was exceptional. You can make this excursion anything you want. If you would like a day in the sun on a hammock where they bring you drinks and you just chill, you can do that. If you would like to go zip lining and on waterslides, you can do that. If you want to swim or snorkel or paddle board, you can do that. If you want to swim with a stingray and pet a sea lion you can do that. There are kid zones and teen zones and adult zones.
Beware there is a fair amount of walking up and down uneven surfaces to get to all the zones mentioned above. If you have trouble walking up/down stairs or on uneven surfaces this is not the right excursion for you.
The boat ride is breezy so make sure to wear something long sleeved for the ride,

Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and helpful throughout the tour. A great relaxing day and certainly a different view of the Puerto Vallarta/Mexican culture versus all the tourist information you are usually bombarded with. Worth the time and the money.

Great adventure. Guides take great care of you. Pam, Fernando, Hector, abi, aldo were fantastic. Super organized and the guides explained everything in great detail before each activity.

Top notch day. Cruise with great music, plenty of room, fantastic staff. Snorkeling was amazing due to our guide pointing things out and allowing us to hold a few species like puffer fish! Water was beautiful and warm. Great service, great sail back. Could not have been any better!

What a great experience! The crew was wonderful! Friendly, accommodating, and professional. The charcuterie board hors d'oeuvres were delicious and just right. The drinks flowed freely, but not too much. Of course the reason we were there was for the sunset, and it was spectacular! As always, Vallarta Adventures went above and beyond and provided us with an amazing experience. I highly recommend them for any excursion to discover Puerto Vallarta and the surrounding areas.

The show itself was wonderful. The beach setting awesome. The boat ride both directions was horrific. The music was so loud you could talk to the person next to you. They refused to turn it down and the music they did play was screeching, pathetic imitations of music. We asked several times to put the music to reasonable levels. I wasn’t expecting a quiet ride and was ok with that. But the “dj” ignored me and said we are having a party. We were not having a party. Over half the boat had their hands over their ears. It’s was the singular worst experience I’ve had in PV in the over 15 years I’ve visited or 2 years I’ve lived here full time.

When getting weighed before zip lining does it show you weight to just you, or to others too?
Is it just you that sees your weight or does it show it to others?

They weigh you on a scale in the shop where you check in. Only if someone is trying to see how much you weigh by looking over your shoulder, otherwise no one else sees it besides you and the worker

Where is better snorkeling - Los Arcos or Marietas or Majahuitas?

It depends on what you want to experience. All are fun. Los Arcos generally has less swells than Mariettas. However, if you go to Mariettas, do the hidden beach excursion. Also you're much more likely to encounter the "Blue Footed Boobie" bird. No joke. that's the name. The have blue feet. Both are open water areas. Majahuitas is a cove. Much calmer water, smaller schools of fish, beautiful beach.
What if the weather gets bad like lightening?

Is the Pueblo Tour a good fit for older children? I have a 13 and 11 year old and this strikes us as the most interesting cultural tour.

Both tours that you have mentioned are great options for you and your husband. The Luxury Yacht & Snorkel tour is a more intimate setting than that of the Marietas Island Eco-Discovery tour which has a higher maximum capacity.
Another great tour for couples is Rhythms of the Night, an incredible dinner show in the candle-lit jungle of Las Caletas.
