I am not going to repeat all the good things about the Museum. I have been there each time I've been in CDMX and love it, especially the prehistory and Aztec rooms. But there is some things that I feel need to be said. The curation and signage is dated - 1970's male-oriented and academic. The use of modern AV and virtual reality is absent. Considering the money that pours into the place surely some of it could be used to update the AV. The non Spanish signage is sparse. While lots of little cards with writing on it would spoil the aesthetic, surely each of the thousands of items could have a small QR code so you can look up the details in Spanish and English and potentially many other languages. You can only look at so many ceramic pots.

If you find yourself in Mexico City you must visit this museum to understand their history and heritage. It was immense but truly educational and interesting. You can easily get by without a guide, but I was lucky to travel with a local history geek.

It's a wonderfully put together museum, taking you on a magical tour through the ages. We ran out of time, so plan carefully. It is on the hop on hop off bus route, for easy access.

Con el debido respeto me quede pensando si el museo es más de arte y cultura que de antropología. Pues uno va esperando encontrar piezas originales de hallazgos históricos y se encuentra con bellos escenarios creados de historia. Aún así está muy lindo. No como me lo pintaban, pero bien. Mucha organización.

Forse per gli appassionati di storia e archeologia maya può essere interessante. Per me è stata una noiosa passeggiata tra le esposizioni, oltretutto senza poter distinguere tra i reperti veri e le molte copie. Interessante solo la copertura avvenieristica del cortile interno con tanto di cascata.

This museum is a must if you like archeology, history & ethnography! Many but not all signs are in English. Videos do have English subtitles. The restaurant is excellent! Even for vegetarians! Loved this museum!!! It’s not perfect but very good!

Don't worry, go there and relax. You do not need tourist guide because every artifact is explained by short text on information plate. Mostly, description wrote on Spanish and English languages. Does museum work at Sunday? I see information, that Sunday is free admission, but working days Tuesday to Saturday

According to the website they are only closed on Mondays, as many museums in the city are also closed on Mondays. I believe there is a small entrance fee regardless of the day, unless you are a resident senior citizen. The fee is nominal and definitely worth it! Enjoy!

I am going to Mexico City Nov. 2021. I would like to see both the Castle and the Museum of Anthropology at my own pace. However I am finding it very impossible to purchase tickets from the websites. I know they can be purchased on site, but I am worried that due to attendance restrictions, I may not get in on the day that I would want to go.
