The ferry was on time and air conditioned. It was very crowded so getting ahead in the line helps to ensure a seat in the air conditioned cabin rather than outside, if you care. The rude us pretty short leaving from the port near the Villa Del Palmar resort.

I sat upstairs where you can see the whole ocean for the whole 15-20 minute ride. I enjoyed the entertainment on the one leaving Puerto Juarez. Buy your ticket at the kiosk no problems.

BE CAREFUL!! Do not use this ferry service. I took the ferry on 3/17/23 and at the time the website and the sign at the ferry, showed a single ride was under $20USD, it was about $17, it changes from week to week. I paid for myself and my boyfriend so our total was supposed to be under $40USD. They instead charged me $324USD. We were running late to the ferry and we were easy targets. They had us pay on a remote terminal as we were getting on the ferry, it wouldn't print a receipt and didn't show me the amount (we didn't have cash) and even though I provided my email for a receipt, they never sent it. I'm going through the process of disputing through my bank but this has been the biggest hassle, its 2 months later and I'm STILL working on getting the money back. Its harder when you don't have a receipt which obviously this company realized.

Took this ferry to Isla Mujeres, one of the more reputable companies and easy/efficient to deal with. The tickets are reasonably priced as they are return tickets, just ensure that you don't lose them as the same ticket is there/back. Ferry ride takes roughly around 20 minutes from Tortuga Dock to Isla Mujeres and there is usually a musician which plays on the top deck for entertainment during the journey. Adult tickets are 540 pesos each from Tortuga. Overall pleasant experience and enjoyed our trip, would use again!

Ultimo giorno di vacanza, prendiamo con molta facilità un biglietto andata e ritorno per l'isola de las mujeres. Servizio molto frequente, belle navi, musica dal vivo e rapidità. Abbiamo trovato il servizio molto serio e non eccessivamente costoso. Ci ha trasportato in un magnifico ultimo luogo di vacanza. Esperienza positiva che raccomando.

Nice experience from start to finish to Isla Mujeras. From the moment we arrived they had staff to help book tickets (the machines accept credit cards) and the vibe on the boat was a lot of fun with a musician on the top deck. Their terminal is right in the middle of Isla Mujeras. Would use them again.

Ferry line is run very efficiently, the staff is very helpful, the ride over with live music is fun and puts you in a very island state of mind! Great experience most of the time.
The only reason for a 4 is there were issues with purchasing tickets online and the staff at the desk (on the Puerto Juarez side) were not very accommodating or terribly friendly even though the online issue was a processing problem with Ultramar.

Si no cuento con INE, licencia de conducir o pasaporte, podría llevar mi credencial de estudiante?

So I am confused now. I have read on a different websites that car ferry from Punta Sam to Isla Mujeres takes only car and driver. Now, according to reedmangreg it is possible to buy a ticket for car passenger either. Can someone please clarify who can be on a car ferry or who cannot? we are planning to hire a car at Cancun airport and drive to Isla Mujeres to stay there for few nights but at the moment l don't know what to do.

Hello, Mandevilla. Sorry for the misunderstanding. In Ultramar Carga (the car ferry) you can travel with as many passangers as the Vehicle Certificate indicates. However, the fees shown in their Facebook page and website only include the transportation of the vehicle and the driver. Every additional passenger has to pay an additional fee. For more information on fees and schedules please visit the "Ultramar Carga" page on Facebook.
If I left from Puerto Juarez, do I have to go back to that port or can I go to another if I paid for a round trip ticket already? Do I have to buy a new ticket to go to the port closer to my hotel on the way back?
