We did the 4 day/3 night whale camp experience and it far and away exceeded my expectations. Biggest thank you possible to the wonderful staff - they worked so hard to make sure we had a magical interaction with the whales as well as an opportunity to enjoy everything the area had to offer. About half the group staying there at the same time as us were return visitors and I understand why. This place is incredible!
I'm not typically one for camping so I was a bit nervous about the accommodations but they were fine. Everything was sparkling clean, the location was beautiful and the food delicious. I would be happy to return someday!

We had a wonderful interaction with the San Ignacio Whales, accommodations / glamping was luxurious service was great and food and drink enjoyable. Flight from Cabo easy and fun. Bring adequate clothes for wet ride.

Muy buen servicio por parte de todo el staff, desde la reservación en San Ignacio hasta el personal en el campamento. La experiencia fue sensacional, el capitán hizo todo lo posible porque tuviéramos una experiencia cercana con las ballenas y lo logró, siempre con respeto por las ballenas. El precio para la observación de ballenas me pareció muy razonable. Los recomiendo ampliamente.

Hice la excursión a las pinturas rupestres del cañón Sta Teresa. Han integrado equipo de trabajo y guías locales bien preparados y amables. La excursión fue de 3 dias. De ida 4 hrs en mula descendiendo por el cañon, cansado pero emocionante. Durante el campamento que ellos arman, nos preparan las comidas. En la visita a las cuevas se camina mucho y se escala un poco. Las pinturas rupestres excepcionales únicas y bien preservadas. Muy recomendable

Although the Whales are certainly the highlight of any trip to the lagoon, The people are what make it happen. From the expert boatmen to the wonderful chef and her staff, they all worked together as a family to make us comfortable and safe. They do so well, it looks effortless, but I know that is because they are good at their jobs and like the work they do.
I also want to thank our guides, naturalists and "instant friends," Margarita, Charlotte. Pam and David who were always "on" from the moment we arrived until after we left, I'm sure. What a great group of friendly and sincere people who have the most difficult job of all; making 20 different people from all walks of life have an enjoyable experience outside their own comfort zone. They met and exceeded everyone's "needs" and satisfied most of their "wants." They are expert at handling difficult personal situations with care and respect. These are people who I am glad I have met and wish we could spend more time together.

Siamo appena stati all’Ecoturismo Kuyima, è stata un’esperienza fantastica!! Avvicinare le balene e interagire con loro è un’emozione indescrivibile! Pensavo che fosse una cosa più turistica, invece i turisti sono contingentati e molto controllati! Abbiamo dormito nelle tende, molto comode e spaziose. Ottimo il cibo!! Staff gentilissimo , consiglio vivamente!!

Great trip - just 5 of us in the boat. Really good captain who clearly understood the whales. Spent 90 minutes in the whale area. These guys know what they are doing and are kind to the whales. They do not chase them. Great experience. Thank you.

I expected the whale watching to be amazing and it was. What I did not appreciate beforehand was how amazing the staff would be at making the experience special. The staff were knowledgeable, friendly, and fun to be around. In addition to cooking amazing food, they also identified additional activities for us to do in the afternoons, after the morning whale watch. For example, one day we went to a local oyster farm. The following day, we helped scientists weigh and measure endangered sea turtles. I cannot recommend Kuyima enough.

Did a day trip from Santa Rosalia on a cruise ship excursion and had a great time. We stopped at the Kuyima shop in San Ignacio and walked around the beautiful town before going out to their camp on the bay.
Whale watching was good - we saw several mothers and babies up close and got sprayed. No Spyhopping or touching but it was still a great time.
Had a great lunch at the camp. The staff were all friendly and helpful.
Make sure to bring water shoes / sandals as we had to walk back to shore at low tide and the rocks/shells were very rough and sharp. We were able to board the boat from shore going out but due to low tide upon return two hours later we had to walk about 50 yards in shin deep water.
We want to go back and spend a few days at their camp on the bay.

Age is no problem. On rough days you may get a bit motion sick but not too bad - it is a lagoon afterall. The whales will make you feel so young! But they are not in Baja this time of year.

We are planning a day trip to Kuyima. Do you have to make a reservation if you just want to do the day tour for whale watching and not staying at the camp? How many times can you do the whale watching tour per day and at what time?

The day trip for the whales is just that, a day trip. You get to go out for about 90 minutes with the whales and you leave San Ignacio at 8 a.m. and drive about 50 miles to the lagoon. You are usually back by 2 or 3 in the afternoon, just in time for a bottle of wine and some appetizers at the local restaurant. It's a full day.

The email is in the contact section of the website and the person's name is Maria for the reservations. She is very helpful and very nice. The season doesn't start until late Dec - the first of April. You might want to wait until November or December to make your reservations.
