This gem of a museum has some of the most friendly, informative and interesting staff we have ever met. My husband, 2 boys (9 and 11) had a wonderful hour and a bit exploring all the museum has to offer. Would highly recommend a stop here.

We were not disappointed ! We really enjoyed the museum. We could not believe what amazing history wasther. A real little treasure. From the moment we walked through the gate there were interesting items outside as well. The staff were all so welcoming and full of passion and knowledge. We all (8) enjoyed our time there, and as my grown up children pointed out " what a good £2 each spent. Would highly recommend. One of my favourite parts was the kitchen set up with ma and pa round the fire chatting x melted my heart ❤

Full of interesting and colourful displays covering local history and the heritage of the island. Only open Wednesday to Sunday 2 - 5 pm but we could have spent all day there.

A little-league museum full of local artefacts and informative. There’s an app giving a walk highlighting point of interest. It was free

Visited with our grandaughter and thought we would be in and out in 30 mins but oh were we mistaken ran out of time as they were closing so will need a further visit!

this is a very good museum covering all local interest it even has a good research centre. Not open as a museum during the Winter

What a little gem!!! Whilst walking around West Mersea we happened to chance on the museum, but it was closed. Fortunately the curator arrived 30 minutes early and asked to give him 5 minutes to open up. Whilst he fetched the keys he recommended going into the church next door and asked our kids to search for the ghost ship in the stained glass window. It was such an experience we refused the under 5 rile and paid for them too!!!!

Interesting little museum all on one level so wheelchair friendly - mostly artefacts from on or around this pleasant little Island - well worth a look

In the area with some spare time so popped into this little Museum, very interesting, lots of interactive exhibits for children, friendly staff and only £1.00 entry fee. Worth visiting.

An amazing museum. So many things, and so much to see. Well planned, well executed, and all run by friendly and helpful volunteers. The only surprise was nothing at all about the church, which is an important part of social history.
