We went on a 2.5 day tour of the La Huasteca region, visiting Xilitla and the Puente de Dios and Tamasopo waterfalls (the latter is really like a nature-built waterpark). Our guide, Lori, not only did all the driving (which I really appreciated), but is also incredibly knowledgeable about the region and its history. Xilitla and Las Pozas (a surrealist garden built by Edward James) are absolutely worth a visit, and the waterfalls were wonderful. If you are looking for a way to visit La Huasteca and learn about the region, I would highly recommend a tour with Operatour Potosina.

I had to go to a funeral in a small town in the state of San Luis Potosi, about 75 miles from the city. The trip was complicated because I have vision problems and can not drive a car and because it was during the COVID pandemic and also because the family kept changing their plans ( we'll meet early before the service for breakfast, we'll meet after for lunch, the service will be early , the service will be mid day etc) I hired Lori and Carlos to take me there and back. They were very understanding and very flexible

After considerable research on tours in the region, we contacted Lori, owner of Operatour Potosina. She was quick to respond with tour details and a reasonable price for small group and private tours to each of the above destinations. Lori and Carlos both were very knowledgeable, personable and fun to travel with. They went out of their way to make sure we saw the highlights and had a good appreciation of each place. We would highly recommend their services to any serious traveler.

When planning a trip to San Luis Potosi, I began to look for a great tour company in the city. My extensive research continually showed the same result – Operatour Potosina. When I contacted the company, Lori responded promptly and was such a joy to work with throughout our planning process. Without fail, Lori was always professional, friendly, knowledgeable, and efficient.
We completed tours with Operatour Potosina over a three-day period. Carlos, our tour guide, was exceptional. Carlos spoke English perfectly and provided excellent information, insightful recommendations, and safe transportation during our tours.
If you’re traveling to San Luis Potosi, I would highly recommend booking tours with Operatour Potosina.

I had a few hours in San Luis Potosi and joined the Ex-haciendas tour with Operatour Potosina. Our group visited two ex-haciendas this day, the Ex-hacienda Peotillos and the Ex-hacienda Corcovada. Both were beautiful and not too far to get there.
The ex-haciendas are private properties, so I would like to thank the owners (which we met) for allowing visitors. It is very kind of them.
Our tour guide was very knowledgeable and told us the history of both places. There were no facilities at the ex-haciendas so we stopped at the highway in between the ex-haciendas for restrooms and snacks.
Overall it was a very pleasant day and I would recommend this tour when visiting San Luis Potosi.

We originally booked a trip with our group to Real De Catorce, our guides picked us up and were incredible. Laura and Carlos both spoken very good english. Had lots of knowledge and insights of the local area and culture. They were very accommodating the the smaller bladders in our group along the long cr ride. It felt safe and fun. We had a such a good time that we booked another trip to the waterfalls for 2 days later. This was an even better trip wrought with adventure and intrigue! Carlos was like a Mexican Indiana Jones. Again alot of information to share with us, patient, and always in good humor. 10 out of 10. Would go again! Thanks!

My group and I booked two separate day tours with Lori and Carlos from Operatour. Our guides spoke perfect English and were extremely accommodating and friendly during our trips. Lori and Carlos really took care of my group and I can't thank them enough for making our trip to San Luis Potosi an amazing success.

We used Operatour Potosina to go to the lush Huasteca region from San Luis Potosi. Lori and her team picked us up exactly on time at our accomodation and drove us to the staging point, where we suited up and got in our canoes. Our time paddling down the river to the Tamul waterfall was spectacular! Lori speaks perfect English, she has incredible experience in exploring SLP state and she takes care of every need on the tour (from washroom breaks to snacks). We would certainly recommend Operatour to anyone who wants to visit La Huasteca region, it is worth the price.

I visited San Luis Potosi on 03/18/2017 and was looking for a day tour to Real de Catorce. I contacted Operatour Potosina by email and received a quick reply confirming a group for that day. I was picked up at my hotel by the van driver Luis and our knowledgeable tour guide, Lori Jones. This was a 12 hour tour round trip and well worth it. Real de Catorce is a lovely old mining town high in the mountains and there is a tunnel that we have to go through to get into the city. Lori showed us the mains spots in the town and also arranged a Willis tour (like a four-wheel vehicle) to an old mine. It was a thrilling ride. I had a relaxing lunch at a local restaurant and had free time to walk in the city on my own. There are lots of shops, cafes and restaurants in town. Bring your camera, sunscreen lotion, hats and good walking shoes since the pavement is made of stones. Operatour Potosina also offers other tours to locations near San Luis Potosi and I really liked their services.
