We (the grandparents) and our two grandkids (10 and 14) had a FABULOUS adventure with Richard. We kayaked around Newcastle Island, stopping for a geocaching excursion and a look at the beautiful erosion formations. Richard was full of information about local history etc. which was fascinating for kids and adults alike. The afternoon just flew by, He was so patient with us and a very good instructor to all of us first-time paddlers. We will definitely do this again -- thank you Richard!!!

Richard will make sure you have an adventure. He shared lots of interesting information about the plants, animals and history of Vancouver Island. We were out when the sea was quite choppy- it was super fun experiencing some adrenaline-sea-kayaking. Richard is really well prepared, great with people and adapts his routes according to the weather and his assessment of the group he's taking out on the water. I definitely recommend booking a tour with him.

We went during high tide so we were able to do the very cool cave like feature as featured on the website. Saw lots of wildlife! The guiding was super helpful and knowledgeable. It was a great trip.

My husband and I had a wonderful kayak tour with Richard on our last day on Vancouver Island. We felt very safe kayaking under his direction, and we learned a lot about the area as well as different animals and sea-life from him. We even saw the infamous albino raccoon --- what a treat! We highly recommend giving sea kayaking a try with Richard!

We did a half day kayaking tour with our family of 4. It was a great experience! We had amazing views from the kayak and our Guid Richard was very knowlegeable about the surroondings and attentive to guests. We strongly recommend this excursion!

Wunderschöne Kajaktour, absolut angepasst an die jeweiligen sportlichen Niveaus. War mit meiner Familie ohne Vorkenntnisse ( 2 Kinder 12 und 15 Jahre ) rund um New Castle Island. Tolles Erlebnis und viele interessante Infos.

We had a fabulous 7 hour trip to Mudge and deCourcy islands with lunch and a swim at Pirate’s 🏴☠️ Cove. Richard was a wonderful guide, kind, funny, very knowledgeable and safety conscious. He was careful to pace the trip for the whole group, had lots of great stories, it was an unforgettable day! Although 7 hours sounds long it was the perfect blend of paddling, breaks, lunch with a little hike, swimming and the paddle home.
Highly recommend as a way to see this beautiful part of the world! We are interested now in doing a longer expedition near Quadra and Cortez!!

Island Romer Adventures was awesome with my family last summer! Personable, knowledgeable, friendly and professional. Even when one of our group members suffered a migraine, Richard assisted with a tow-in kayak all the way back! Highly recommend Richard and Island Romer Adventures if wishing to kayak and explore the waters off of Nanaimo area/gulf islands!
