Nice views, really delicious and innovative ciders, we especially loved the bitter orange rosemary cider! It was a bit pricy for us, so maybe not for those on a budget, but a great spot if you want a nice treat!

There are different cideries on Saltspring Island but this one is our favourite. The location has a great view, the variety of ciders is excellent, and the staff is very knowledgeable about their products. Cheers!

Wonderful food, nice location - TERRIBLE AND RUDE SERVICE! We arrived for a 5:30 reservation and sat in the enclosed outside area with propane heaters - none of which worked and we were cold! The white wine was cloudy and the waitress clueless. She didn't know why the wine was cloudy or that it shouldn't be. There was no cutlery or napkins at our table and no one seemed to care. Our waitress brought the bills and rudely snatched the credit card away from one of us and rolled her eyes at us. Had she done that before we completed our bills there would have been zero tip instead of 20% for bad service. With such good food it should have been a wonderful evening. Instead it was irritating and, in the end, rude. We will give it one more try and hope for much better service - and our waitress was not new - just clueless and badly trained.

First, it takes a lot for me to leave a bad review. (Especially considering that we had just eaten here two nights prior, being served almost $200 worth of food on napkins, and ignored that significant inconvenience.) And since I hate to leave a one star, I have read all of the owners’ replies to other low reviews and can say that it was not the “first night” of our servers occupation there, nor was it “busy” on this Monday evening - at all. However, it was VERY busy on our first visit two nights prior and while the service wasn’t good OR friendly (at all), we didn’t feel the need to review it because it was so busy and we chalked it up to just that. But tonight… it’s just inexcusable and crazy to me that an establishment wants to treat people poorly for no reason at all. Or make excuses for their employees that do. It’s gross.
We had planned on making our final two dinners (tonight and tomorrow) there due to the close proximity to our stay.
We made tonight’s reservation for 7:00 earlier in the day and arrived five minutes early. The area that we were seated was surprisingly not busy, and there were several tables that were on their way out. We sat. And sat. And sat some more. Our server walked by us no less than ten times and looked away from our table each time she passed. I’d assumed she wasn’t our server
because of her utterly standoffish “not my table” behavior. After approx 15 minutes, my Husband said it seemed they were too busy (despite several servers loitering about in solitaire) to send a server our way and offered to order our ciders at the bar. Good idea, as sitting idly wasn’t working. When he reached the bar, the (friendly) bartender asked if we had a table outside. He replied that we did but couldn’t give her a table number as we are patrons, not employees. In that moment, the other waitress (oversized white graphic tee) ran to the back to tell someone what was going on & my husband was told that they’d bring our drinks to us. Several minutes passed, and our server brought our drinks to us while extremely rude/put out asking if they were our drinks. When we replied yes, she smirked and cut me off when I explained why we went to the bar to order drinks. She then cut me off to ask if we also ordered food. I was so shocked at this point that I told her we did not and would enjoy our drinks and consider if we would order at all at that point. She then told me to give her my menu and left with it.
She continued to give nasty looks and stare our way while talking trash to the hostess at one point . She returned after about twenty minutes to ask if we wanted anything to eat. I told her that we’d decided we were done, and she asked if we were sure. We replied that we were ready to go and were met with a cheery “Ok then!” - which was a smack in the face because reiterated our feelings of not being wanted in the establishment. (Why??)
She returned with our tab saying she had given us a “little discount” for “being missed.” At that point, it just felt like more snark. Oddly her ticket name was “Night Shift,” so we don’t have a reference for a name but want to thank her for ultimately sending us to Oystercatcher, which we had entirely dismissed over shoddy reviews about “price” that was completely inconsequential, as the service was STELLAR. So much so that I almost fainted when our server told us she was 17 because she was running circles around the large crowds there.

This is one of my favourite places on Salt Spring Island. They have cider flights where you can try different flavours. The setting is also nice with a great view.

Arised a tad early and was promptly seated by a friendly waitress. Service was ok.. view and ambiance lovely.
Starter was figs and cider flights was wonderful. Chicken in cognac sauce quite bland, tasted like mushroom soup. The side.. “mash” was cold. The venison sausage very tasty, mash was fine. Both dishes could of benefited from a delicious veg.
Dinner for 2 with 2 flights.. $very reasonable, $92 + tip.

Friendly staff, good selection on Chart. Board for the two of us. Traditional flight of ciders was nice. Cool views of grazing sheep, etc.

Well we waited 45 minutes for water to be delivered to the table and no waiter in sight. They’re going to all the other tables but ours. Ordered focaccia bread to start and it has not arrived after all this time waiting.

Instalaciones muy cómodas y accesible para personas en silla de ruedas, pet friendly, mi esposo y yo disfrutamos mucho la tarde!, productos locales muy ricos y buena atención, lo mejor de todo es que tiene un horario amplio de atención ya que todo en la isla cierra temprano, sin duda regresamos!

Salt Spring Wild Cider is the place to go for an upscale meal and drink experience, a romantic sit down or a casual cider tasting experience. Absolutely worth the visit.
