เราไปเยี่ยมชมในระหว่างงานปรับปรุงครั้งใหญ่ น่าแปลกที่อาคารแห่งนี้ยังคงเปิดให้ประชาชนทั่วไปผ่านประตูด้านข้าง มีอะไรให้ดูน้อยมาก แต่สิ่งที่เราเห็นนั้นน่าทึ่งมาก ลิฟต์สไตล์อาร์ตเดโคมีความสวยงาม (ชวนให้นึกถึงล็อบบี้ของ Empire State ในนิวยอร์ค) ชอบที่จะได้เห็นมากขึ้น ฉันแนะนำให้ไปเยี่ยมชม แต่เมื่อการปรับปรุงเสร็จสมบูรณ์ หากคุณทำได้

We visited during the extensive renovation works. Surprisingly the building is still open to the public via a side door. There was very little to see but what we did see was amazing. The art deco lifts are beautiful (reminiscent of the Empire State lobby in NYC). Would love to have seen more.

I recommend a visit but when the renovations are complete if you can.

Do not visit - renovations/repairs

This building was one of the points of interest for us on our recent trip to Canada (early May 2023). Unfortunately, although the offices located in the building are open and functioning, the building itself and its wonderful interiors are obscured under the scaffolding and cover sheets. Disappointed.

The art deco exterior is astonishing. The inside is well preserved and its good that there are now two cafe bars at the main entrance which are breathing new life into this historic building.

We could only see the building from the outside (building was closed), but even from the outside and peeking through the doors, you could see and appreciate the retro architecture and details.

An Art Deco Gem! The lobby is a photographer's dream. To appreciate the art deco reliefs on the outside, bring your binoculars to see them up close or, better yet, your camera with telephoto lens to capture them for future enjoyment.

Marine Building “ a crag rising from the sea clinging with sea flora and fauna. Tinted in sea-green, touched with gold”

You can take the elevator up to the mezzanine for better views and photos of the grand entrance hall and the two stained glass windows- sunrise and sunset and clock with sea creatures (instead of numbers). Elevator interiors are gorgeous with local varieties of inlaid wood and exterior doors have bronze starbursts.Two charming phone booths in lobby protected by a little ship at sea. You see sea creatures and ships everywhere. Beautiful, stylish 2nd floor!
Separate but in same building is the JJBean coffee shop with 2 outside tables and Tractor everyday healthy foods…very delicious oat, apricot cookie!

Standing outside the entrance to this building is impressive. But it doesn't prepare you for stepping inside. Painstakingly beautiful art deco interior, right down to the smallest detail.

Take a lift to the balcony above for a different perspective. Even the lift is a feast for the eyes.

One of the most beautiful buildings I have ever been to

Worth while a stop on you way to the harbour, not so much to admire the building but rather to take in the magnificent entrance which can easily be overlooked if you walk too fast!
