First time ADVENTURE 🎣

Had the absolute BEST time with Chromers crew! First time ever fly fishing; the Squamish river backdrop was mesmerizing. Our guides Yos, Paulie + Brass were so patient showing us casting to catching 🎣. Chromers crew took pride in making us feel incredibly safe on the river, greatly appreciated it being my first time!! The experience was an adventure from start to end. Highly recommend them for fly fishing, we will be back again soon. We also grabbed our lunch sandwiches to go from the most delish café in town, before we left called - Bean Around The World 👌🏽!

Absolutely Amazing!

Went to BC for a girls trip in October 2022. We were looking for a unique experience and decided to give fly fishing a try. None of us had any experience at all, but figured it would be fun. We knew we’d enjoy it ( hard to have a bad time in that setting) but didn’t anticipate loving it as much as we did. Yos and his team were amazing! They were patient with us, so fun and made the experience all about our enjoyment. I’ve told everyone I know to not miss this experience if they find themselves Vancouver way. We’re already planning the next trip!
To anyone that hasn’t been or is nervous about trying- don’t be. You will absolutely appreciate every part of this adventure!

The 2 half days that I spent with Jon MacArthur and the full day with Yos Gladstone fishing the Squamish River have left me with memories that I will treasure for the rest of my life.... If you are planning a fly-fishing experience in British Columbia there are only two "things" left for you to do....

Firstly: Launch a search from your favorite browser and watch the video clip so aptly named NOT A SILVERSPOON EXPERIENCE

Secondly: Contact Yos Gladstone and book your fly-fishing Odyssey.... for a fact certain you will not be disappointed rather you will have the time of your life.

I simply do not have sufficient command of the English language to find the correct adjectives or superlatives to express my heart felt gratitude and sincere appreciation for Chrome sports hospitality and the unforgettable experience that I had with Yos and Jon in the spectacular Squamish valley fishing one of the most beautiful rivers I have ever seen.... Thank you just seems hopelessly inadequate, and 5 gold stars are just not enough.

Please accept my sincere thanks for a great day of fishing on the Squamish(11/9/22).
From your willingness to work with me on short notice, to the clear, concise communication before the day, you nailed the experience. Throw in Jon’s patience with my lack of Spey fishing and his mastery of the water AND the fish, it was a day I’ll always remember.
As I’ll continue to do business in Vancouver, I’ll be carefully watching the fishing reports and will undoubtedly schedule guided days with you in the future.

Fall Salmon Frenzy in BC

Fall salmon season in British Columbia resulted in my second trip with Yos Gladstone and many more to come! We had an absolutely perfect 2 day fly n drift trip with over 10 coho and chum salmon landed and 25 hooked. Plenty fish over 14 lbs! Top shelf guiding at it’s finest in Squamish. I’m already in the booking process for my next trip 🙌🏽

Top day with Jon on the Squamish river

I had a day on the Squamish river with Jon in September. I would recommend this to anyone with an interest in fishing. I was given expert tuition on the methods to be used to suit the conditions, and how and where to target the fish. Jon kept the conversation flowing all day, so all in all it was a top day out.

Coho , Chum and Bull trout on the Squamish

Brilliant time fly fishing on the Squamish again with Chromer, Over the week did a couple of drifts on the upper river and a few walk ins to some really good fishing spots. Fished with John, Paul and Tom over the week, and really enjoyed fishing with them. First day caught some bull trout, the biggest 24in, next few days caught a lot of coho from about 7 to 151b and even caught one as I was reeling in! Chromer supplied all the gear including rods, boots and waders. Squamish river is a beautiful place, fantastic views all around, tranquillity and peace where you just relax and just concentrate on enjoying the fishing. So Chromer, as always, took good care of me, picking me up from the hotel, and with a coffee and breakfast sandwich ready to eat on the way to the river. The last 3 days the chum started to arrive, I could see quite a few in the pools as they rolled to the surface and back down. Whereas the bites from the coho were initially quite gentle, just sensing the line tightening gradually, the chum seemed to have two different approaches. The first, was just to hit the fly, the line would zoom across the river generating a curtain of spray, the reel would be spinning like mad, and in seconds you would see it leap in the air on the other side of the river, at that time you just concentrate on getting some line back on your reel. The second form of take is more solid, well to be honest there was one that I was confident that I had got stuck on a rock, stuck solid , the line did not move, a bend in the rod , nothing, So I continued to do the usual tricks I had learnt that week, to get the fly loose, no luck... but 40 seconds later the line moved , and it kept on moving at which time I put some side pressure on, and then it just took off .When I eventually did get things under control it turned out to be a beautiful chum of 151b . My last day on Saturday, I fished in the morning on the lower Squamish, fishing the pool, being careful not to disturb a sea eagle eating a chum only 30 m behind me. I could see the Chum rolling on the surface, the ones I caught were all silver fresh from the sea. When I landed my last Chum, that morning at 18ib, I thought I will never better that experience, so I made that the last cast of the day. One week later while writing this, I still feel great, about the experience, of that last cast of the fly!
