Our experience was like that of adelejowitt (who reported a similar bad experience). We had a 20 person vehicle, which was a former school bus. One seat was detached and standing upright and another seat reclined back and wouldn't lock in an upright position, making it unusable. The ride was rough/uncomfortable. Our guide was best described as a friendly driver and not a knowledgeable guide. He knew very little about what he showed us. I asked about his training and he said they had driven him on the route a few times. He also said he was still learning. On a positive note, we did get to see areas that we wouldn't have seen without a vehicle. We were on a cruise ship, and this "tour" definitely qualified as the worst tour experience on our 11 day cruise. After returning home, I read the reviews again on trip advisor, and clearly this tour operator presents a variable quality of experiences. Unfortunately, at times when the quality is low, it is extremely substandard. I would NOT recommend this tour operator to others.

Joe was waiting for us as we disembarked from the cruise ship. From there as Joe was showing us around town, he began to ask about our expectations for the day. We told Joe we were interested in lighthouses and the fall colors of the trees. The 10 of us couldn't have been more pleased. I must admit that rounding us up and getting on and off the bus was like herding cats but Joe was patient and let us create our day. Our goal was achieved-a beautiful vacation day

Used Dave's Taxi Tours 2 years ago for a family tour. It was great so I booked them again for tour of St. John and St. Martin. It was great again. Our driver was Theresa. She was friendly and knowledgeable. So I will continue to recommend Dave's Taxi Tours to people visiting St. John.

We got to spend 5+ hours touring St Martins Caves and the Fundy Trail. Theresa was an exceptional guide. She made several stops so we could go exploring, and ended with Lunch at the caves......and fortunately just in time to get inside when the tide went out. Highly recommend Theresa as your guide....and Dave's tours.

Of the 10 double occupancy seats, four of the benches were broken and unusable.
The driver was a really nice man, and was not a guide. The was very little substantive info on this ride. We left about 10:00 and lunch as at 3:30, which seemed quite late.

Just got off of our tour and our driver/tour guide was Dave ( not the owner)
It was the worst tour we ever took.
The driver was totally unprofessional.
He said he was sick and kept coughing and sneezing the whole 5 hours.
To make it worse he kept wipeing his nose on the back of his hand until he found a paper towel.
He could not explain any sights because he would start coughing.
We felt like he just wanted to go and get back asap.
He was dressed like he just rolled out of bed.
His van was filthy and looked like it hadn't been cleaned in weeks.
I cannot rate the tour company itself unless we base it on this driver, than it would be a 1 or less.
If you go with this company please tell them you DO NOT want Dave.
We did not book this tour but was in a group of 6 so we can only speak for ourselves.

Our day on an excursion with Patrick from Dave's Taxi Tour Guys was such a terrific experience that we couldn't understand all the complaints we heard back onboard the NCL Escape about this port. It's a pity that those folks didn't have the personalized tour that we had, and they missed out on what the area had to offer. Patrick filled us with sites and information that made our day... from the tour of Saint John to the Bay of Fundy at low tide to the Caves and lunch and then back to catch the high tide. The personal service and attention we got from Patrick was priceless. Dave did a good job of communicating with us beforehand, too. HIGHLY RECOMMENDED!

With Joe as our driver, we had a fantastic day. He took us around all St. John had to offer, then dove us to St. Martins to visit the caves, making various picture stops on the way. Getting back to see the reversing falls, he took us to the ship first, then to a drugstore, the reversing falls, and back to the ship again. And he did it all with a friendly smile and passion.

We chose this taxi tour instead of the cruise tour options. We had a fantastic day out with "little Dave" who drove us round the sites and gave us a running commentary on them. Dave is a really nice man and we all enjoyed this trip very much and would recommend as a great way to see the area. Thanks Dave :)

We had Patrick as a Taxi Driver. He was waiting for us when we got off the cruise ship. Group of 6 adults. Easiest excursion experience ever. Patrick was excellent and the service was fantastic! Foggy weather but he was still able to show us everything in a unique way.

In my experience the best and fastest way to get in touch with Dave is by telephone. By the way if there are any young children in your party be sure to request Steve as your tour guide. He is great with children.

If you go onto their website you will find them very responsive to your questions regarding price. I can only say that whatever the cost, it was worth it. The cruise lines offer onshore excursions that tour the area, dave's taxi tours far exceed those experiences. We enjoyed our tour with Roland immensely, he was informative and friendly.
