As recommended by a local, we went here one day and enjoyed a lovely morning walking the trails and checking out the various statues and monuments throughout the park. Lovely spot with the water flowing and small waterfalls to discover. Clearly loved by the locals.

One of the best city parks I've seen with a fantastic easy walking trail through the park. Nice mix of woodsy views, streams, waterfall and more.

This was the first time I visited Bowring park. It is simply an excellent place to hike, bike or just stroll leisurely and feed the pigeons. The park is meticulously maintained and very clean. It would be nice to have a place to buy a bottle of water or a snack but we had our supplies so we did not suffer.

This is a beautiful Park to visit in St.John’s,NL.
It has hiking/walking trails,duck pond,playground,Splash Pad,swimming pool,Amphitheater,open areas for picnics ,soccer field, tennis court, Skate park, and is rich in Dedication to NL History such as War Memorials.
It is a place that was created in July 1914.If you visit St.John’s,NL it is a must see and a great place to spend the day with the entire family at anytime of the year...open all year long.

The park was full of people & families, of all ages, doing a full range of activities from walking, swimming, biking to sitting back taking in the sun, chatting or enjoying a picnic!
And yes of course, some were feeding the ducks at the famous Duck Pond!
The Park has many significant Monuments throughout, rich in history, it was great to take time to read the plaques & get in touch with the local past. Going strong since the 1920's!

I visited during a morning in June. The park was quiet at that time and very peaceful. The tulips were blooming and were beautiful. I loved the Peter Pan statue especially I have seen its "twin" in Kensington Gardens in London. It was a great place to get some exercise in a peaceful setting. I imagine in the summer it can get busy.

Lovely park, well kept with many places to walk or picnic at.
For me the best part of the park is the Southbrook Trail. It’s about 1.5 km and easy to walk, and it will appeal to all ages.
Trail winds through woods, bridges over the river and ends near the main road. It will take about 30 minutes and it’s a leisurely walk.
Best time is early in the morning when you’ll have the place to yourself to enjoy the wildlife and the scenery.

Yes. There is a paved route in the park that accommodates maintenance vehicles but is otherwise given over to walkers and walkers and their dogs and walkers and their strollers.

The Butterfly Pavialion is not in Bowring Park, it is located outside of Deer Lake in Newfoundland. This is on the west coast of the island a 7 hour drive from St John's. I have been to that venue a few times and it is a must see if you love interacting with beautiful creatures.

I am possibly coming to St John in June and going to this park is something I may want to do. I have a disability and use a wheelchair. Is the park wheelchair acessible? and do you have wheelchair acessible Bathrooms in the park if I need one?

Majority of this park is wheel chair accessible. The small trails throughout park will likely pose an issue. There are multiple wheelchair accessible bathrooms throughout park.
If your staying in downtown area another option could be bannerman park it's smaller but beautiful. Slot of history to this park and it is located in a historic area directly next to the colonial building and scenic rennies mill Rd
