these guys fit 3 of us in last minute, even though it would take them beyond their closing time. we needed this done for a wedding and the place we had booked were rude and cared nothing for customer service. we called these guys and they bent over backward for us. while there, we were treated awesome. never felt rushed. if there was anything i would suggest they do different (as all nail salons should do), it's talk TO THE CUSTOMER, not each other in a different language. Makes us feel like they are talking about us.....

To those planning to get their nails or waxing done at Galaxy Nails on Woodlawn - DON'T. I REPEAT - DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE. Their mani/pedi equipment aren't properly cleaned some tools were rusted. I went with my sister to get our mani/pedis done ($35 for each person plus $8 eye brow wax), with tax, and with tip everything came up to about $110 give or take a few dollars. I have been to many salons that specialize in nail and skin care, this place is not one of them.
Although they offer a reduce mani/pedi rate - for the price it's not worth it. Shellac was painted on so thick it looks like i have artificial nails. The top coat wasn't polished on properly and when going over my nails for the third time the colour of the nail polish was not evenly distributed. Couldn't be fixed since the woman doing my nails had already applied the final coat. She did a very poor job cleaning up the area around my fingernails (top skin and sides). I'm still picking the nail polish off my skin.
She did a mediocre job on my toenails but the polish may have been old since the polish on my right toe formed several bubbles. The top coat did not make this any smoother. This salon isn't very hygienic and I do not recommend this place at all.
I also got my eyebrows waxed too, however, I had to wait over an hour for the wax to heat up since their equipment was in poor condition and failed to work. I eventually came back once they had it up and running. When I finally went back to get my eyebrows waxed, I went from big foot to angelina jolie - before brad pitt - you know, when she had to draw in her eyebrows. That's pretty much what I have to do now since the woman who did my nails also did my eyebrows.
I left the salon in a massive hurry and couldn't get out of there fast enough. I left with one eyebrow higher than the other and she took a good chunk of my skin when she waxed my left eyebrow, on the right eyebrow only small pieces of skin in random places have been removed. I've been to other salons before where my skin had been removed but never to this degree. I have no shape to my eyebrows, they are completely sore/red, and she failed to properly hold my skin back in a taut position before removing the hair with the wax strip.
This salon is completely unprofessional. We were silly enough to try a place that offered a mani/pedi deal for $35 , I should have known better. Oh well... You get what you pay for at this salon. Please please please do not go here unless you want to be scraping shellac off the sides of your fingernails, or would love to spend the weekend icing your eyebrows. Honestly feels like I got a chemical peel done right now.
The entire time she did my eyebrows she was rushing when there was no need to. When I went back to get my eyebrows done there was literally only one person at the store. Don't even know how they're still in business. She got wax on my hair (a lot, not a little but a lot), wax on my eyelashes and waxed on a part where there was no hair. She applied on so much wax it's no wonder she took off my skin. If I could sue, I would. But the fact that I can't pay for a decent mani/pedi job means I can't afford a lawyer to sue their butts.
GUYS, please please please stay away from this place, you'll save yourself the trouble. Spend extra and go to a professional/legit salon. This one is shady af! Oh, the woman doing my nails also thought it was a good time to constantly check her phone while she was working on my nails...no wonder my nails look awful. :( This place was soo disappointing.
When she tried to remove the wax from my skin she tried using baby oil. With the cotton ball she swiped it over my eyebrows (top, middle and bottom) and rubbed it off so hard it felt like she was using sandpaper. Now keep in mind my skin is already sore, red, and broken from when it got torn with the wax. How this place is still in business is shocking.
