A refugee love story had very little plot and far too much swearing. It was white Canadian bad and racist toward European Jews.
Salt baby was also white people bad. Native Canadians good.
Next play serving Elizabeth will likely also be white people bad for colonialism. I have been a seasons ticket holder for years but rethinking whether I will see another play.
The last play is a conservative bashing drag queen play.

What a beautiful theatre. I never knew about it, and went and saw “Old Stock: A Refugee Love Story”. It’s a hidden gem. Too bad you can’t take drinks into the theatre like you can at other theatres. But the setting is great for great plays. Find something on their list of plays that you think is interested go. You won’t be disappointed!!

Went with a couple of friends to see the show, Old Stock: A Refugee Love Story, on July 30, 2022…TERRIBLE , TERRIBLE SHOW…1-1/2 on 10 and I am being VERY generous…lots of the F… word used…I was Very Ashamed to bring friends there. Clean up your act…a crappy story too…Very, Very Disappointed, at the show and what I paid for the 4 tickets!!!

I have reviewed the theatre in the past and it is one of the unsung gems of Hamilton. This is a smaller intimate theatre with no bad seats. We have been season ticket holders for about 15 years and the productions are arguably better than Royal Alex in Toronto. However we walked out at half time from Sweat. Perhaps the 2nd act had a redeeming ending, but we couldn't endure it to find out.

If you've seen Netflix's docudrama on John Gotti, Steel City Gangster is sure to disappoint. George F Walker's play about Rocco Perri, one of a handful of Hamilton's most infamous mobsters, misses on every count. Although I often disagree with Gary Smith, Hamilton's most prolific theatre critic, I mostly agree with his unfavourable review of Steel City Gangster in The Hamilton Spectator of march 20, 2019 "All dressed up, but...[no place to go.]"

The performance of Elf was amazing and truly captured the christmas story. The theatre is accesible and all seats provide a good view of the stage. The bar is reasonably priced and open before the performance and at intermission. The small(ish) theatre means that the lines aren't too busy and you can truly enjoy the show.

This is a beautiful mid-size proscenium arch theatre with a capacity of about 750 people. There is a balcony and box seats. All of the sightlines are excellent and the acoustics are very good. There is good legroom between rows which is helpful as there is no middle aisle. The venue serves alcohol at intermission and they can be pre-ordered. Coat check is available and there is good parking in the area. The productions are professional and have excellent production values. We saw "Father" and it was a very moving piece of theatre. They have a Christmas show that is family oriented as well as a subscriber series of drama and comedy plays.

So much entertainment for such a reasonable price. I was not familiar with the story behind this production and was expecting a musical tribute to the four artists, the Sam Phillips story of Sun Records and how he discovered and promoted these and other famous performers was enlightening.
All the actors portraying the stars, Johnny Cash, Elis Presley, Carl Perkins, Jerry Lee Lewis did themselves proud and I loved the finale when the audience was invited to stand up and join in the rock and roll chorus of Whole Lot of Shaken Going on.

Christo Graham absolutely steals the show as Jerry Lee Lewis. I am totally in awe of his performance. This show was so much fun.
