Чистый парк, подходит для времяпровождения с детьми. Площадка с водными фонтанчиками для детей. Можно устроить пикник в жаркий летний день. Много скамеек. Недалеко от набережной.

Easy walk from the waterfront. It is interesting that all the lower tree branches have been trimmed. You can see a long way into the park.

This is a huge shady park with mature trees, crisscrossing walking paths, war memorials, park benches, picnic tables, playgrounds, splash pad and tribute garden. My family got to visit this park twice in 2 days.
The first time was an impromptu evening visit after a quick stop at the Gaskin Lion. We saw the WWI memorial from across the street, decided to have a look and ended up checking out all the memorials on our way back to the hotel. The corner of King St E and West St has an empty spot between 2 cannons--it turned out to be where the statue of Sir John A. Macdonald, Canada's first prime minister, stood for over 100 years until its controversial removal in 2021. Since we only saw the park at dusk, we agreed to go back for another look.
The next morning, we entered City Park from the northeast corner and found ourselves in a lovely circular tribute garden with dry deck fountain and wooden benches (The Walk at City Park). We walked further into the park, past the empty playgrounds and splash pad until we reached the WWII artillery gun we saw the previous evening.
Public washrooms are located on the north side. Pay parking is enforced on streets around City Park, usually Mon-Sat 8AM-5PM.

Too bad they took down the statue of Sir John A Macdonald catering to non-Kingstonians and a special interest group. History is not something you can change by deleting statues or stories you find uncomfortable, unhappy or even oppressive.

Visited this Park in September 2021 - this is an absolutely beautiful park - scenery, benches to rest, water fountains - awesome is what comes to mind. We walked the whole park, sat, took some pictures and the ambiance of the park itself is so welcoming. Looking out at the Marina area, with the boats - so beautiful. If you haven't had a chance to experience this park- you need to do so!

Nice large and clean park to relax and visit. Nice safe area to just unwind and to take a break. Very close to downtown

This park is good attraction in Kingston. 5 minutes walk to lake and other activities. The city park itself is beautiful and recommend visiting when local activities are hosted.

Great park to take a walk, and it has a statue of the best prime minister of Canada, Sir John a MacDonald. Take the time to take the walk.

While visiting Kingston we came across an Artfest made up 200+ artisans from Ontario & Quebec. What is nice is that we visit and walked along shady paths throughout the park. We truly enjoy outstanding visiting artisans who made pottery, glass, wood, jewellery, gourmet food, art workshops, etc. I think what made this festival great for us is that we meet a company who sold handmade, low-carb (keto/paleo friendly), non-GMO and sugar free shortbreads. The company was called Sprucewood Handmade Cookie Co. from Cobourg, ON. Outstanding products and free tasting. We bought 6 boxes.

Is there much shade by the playground and splash pad?

There were mature trees along the street side and within the park. The splash pad area was quite sunny as I remember. There were trees nearby, I believe, but not right at pad. Playground & pad were very nice.
