Was excited to see the fresh produce, particularly the heirloom tomatoes! They were not only beautiful, but as heirlooms go, as good as it gets! The market is not large, but the offerings are varied. I also picked up some fresh radishes, which were so good that I didn't share them with anyone (my bad).

I haven't actually been in a long time because of my work schedule, but I miss it and can't wait to go back. If it's still on this monthe and next and my schedule gets better, I'll be there every week.

If you plan on visiting the Old Town on a Saturday morning, visiting this little market is a nice option. My wife and I visit it most Saturdays from April/May to around Thanksgiving. They have live music and it closes at 1 pm. Usually there is food available and a few vendors selling local produce, preserves and crafts. But as I mentioned, it is a small market so you might only need 15 minutes unless you grab a quick bite and listen to some music.

Lots of selection at this place. Was suggested to go here for a quick bite. Had a nice time with family and friends while trying a number of different dishes from a few different trucks. Food is small and is higher in price for what you get. Flavour with some of the dishes was really nice like the Pad Thai would be well worth getting a second time. What is really nice is the open-air concept and that there a few different vineyards to allow you to try lots of different drinks too.

There Saturday market is disappointing not much there. It would help if they had the stuff they advertise in the local paper.

I had a not good experience at this place.
These food trucks are pretty expensive. The prices are equivalent to eating in an upscale eatery without the nice atmosphere or comfort. I ordered something and then went to join my SO as he was collecting his food at the Pig Out stand. The man who helped him turned to say something to me. The man was in an excited mood and as the man spoke, he spit huge globs of saliva in my direction. Because I was separated from him by a few feet, his spit did not hit me in the face but instead fell in an arc and landed straight on the food I had bought. The man quickly backed up and walked to the far end of his stall. He left me standing there in shock with a food carton full of his spit. I had not even yet had a taste of my food. It was one of the worst food experiences I have ever had. It wasn't even just a couple pieces of spit that came out of the man's mouth. It was like a garden hose of spit. I have never seen anybody accidentally spit so much. My boyfriend told me to just scrape the top layer off my food and eat what was left. Well, most of the good stuff in my dish was in the top layer and I was not convinced that some spit wouldn't transfer onto the spoon and then onto the remaining food as I scraped. It was just so disgusting and disappointing. I was really hungry too. I said no way to that suggestion and just threw all the food away without tasting it. It was pretty sad because I was really looking forward to trying it and I had not eaten almost anything that day so I was really, really hungry.
My boyfriend insisted that I not comment to the Pig Out man about spitting all over my food. He said just go buy another of the same item at the food cart where I had gotten it. So I went to do that. When I got to that food cart there was nobody standing directly in front where people usually order. So I tried to order but that guy told me that there was a woman already waiting to order and I need to wait my turn. That was embarrassing. I did not purposely line cut. The woman waiting was standing well to the side and back in the area where at all the food carts here people stand when they already ordered and paid and they are just waiting for their food to be ready. Standing like that she was basically setting other people up to look rude and stupid. I stepped back to wait for her to order at some point. Apparently she was waiting on him to be ready but I don't know why she was standing so far away from the front where nobody could tell she was even waiting to be helped.
I stood there feeling sad that my food had been spit on, resentful about paying for the same food twice, and embarrassed about looking like a line cutter. As I stood there waiting I decided no amount of being hungry or wanting to eat something was worth any of this. So I decided to walk away without ordering and went back to our accommodations hungry where I had some bread and jam. Totally disappointing experience.

This is a terrific place to be on Wednesday evenings or Saturday mornings. Wednesday evenings until sunset you can eat and drink with local wineries, breweries and an incredible variety of food trucks. Saturday morning is a wonderful market with food and pastries along with local produce. Make sure you buy a fresh made flower bouquet from Rose!

Officially it's called the Market at the Village and rhe Supermarket at the Village. But that's a prissy formality for the Wednesday evening affair at Niagra-on-the-Lake (that's Lake Ontario in Canada), a genteel world and half-hour drive away from the waterfalls and tourism zoo of the city of Niagra. Locals know the market, open Wednesday evenings, 4:30 to 8, mid-May to mid-September as the Food Trucks, the setting for the 30 or so food trucks arranged in a semicircle facing a small band and dozens of widely spread picnic tables painted the colors of the rainbow. The adventurous Yvonne and I were considering the pricey eateries along Notle's (for affluent Niagra-on-the-Lake) lakeside main street when our B&B host mentioned the Food Trucks. An easy drive led us to the park and all those tables and trucks and what is surely Notle's weekly social melting put. A lively, three-piece band, the Pretones, was stirring infants from their strollers and old folks to beating their canes. I needed a beer--the trucks' sell only locally grown, cooked or brewed--which was $2 for a plastic cup and $5 to hold it, so Yvonne set off for the other trucks. She came upon a beverage called Gazpacho, but this was made with tiny shrimp, pieces of watermelon, onion, and I think Feta cheese. Not a piece of tomato in it and a whole new, even tastier rendition of the classic Spanish soup. From another truck, that of the Itty Bitty Pie purveyor, we had fist-size fruit pies. For space alone, we passed on the "Gourmet" nachos and Bud's Kettle Corn for a respectable pulled pork sandwich and an alleged hamburget made of chopped brisket. With each stop at a truck, we moved from table, meeting good and fun people who, good as the food was, were reason enough for us to vow to return,

Every wednesday night in summer various food trucks gather in Niagara on the lake for an outdoor 'suppermarket'. This is an event geared mainly for locals. Some live music and outdoor tables. Come in early has some stalls and the music tend to run out by 7:00 PM. There was about 10-12 trucks/stalls when we went there in June. Had difficulty getting a table so we sat on the edge of a boardwalk. I rated event average, but would in fact rate between average and very good depending on the truck. Typical of the area, prices are not low. Expect to pay 10-15 $ per small serving, but some are 6-7$. You pay 5$ for each voucher to get beer/wine, but incredibly for the region there was only one winery to offer its product and not the best in my opinion. Still getting wine in such an event is rare. Best meal was the fish taco from the mexican food truck. The goat roti from the 'smoking boudha' truck was also good value and authentic, including the greasiness and the scarce bits of goats, but still yummy and filing if you like indian/nepalese/sri lankan food. Several BBQ trucks on hand but did not try. Also an artisan cheese truck and suckling pig which tempted me. Worst value was the seafood truck with 15$ small lobster roll and 33$ oyster tray, but the lobster was OK if bland. Overall it is interesting and a welcome break from the restaurant scene in town since there was a variety of ethnic foods available and much fewer tourists.
