Ok so this place is WAY cooler than one might expect. The buildings and artifacts inside are preserved in a ridiculous way that transports you back 150 years and more. My kids adore the school house with states and chalk to draw on. Bravo to those keeping this museum intact.

I passed through here in early 2020. I did not know what to expect, just that this was near the location of the first Polish settlement of Canada. I decided to stop, and loved the exhibits. A well done farmhouse, and great information about early settlers and methods they used. Would be better if there was a guide.

So this museum is a place that explains the story of the Polish community in this area.
The buildings are well maintained and the artifacts well preserved and presented.
For someone wanting to know more about the area of Wilno this is the place to visit.
Just visiting the museum you can tell that the residents are proud of their heritage and want to share it with everyone.
Kudos to all involved in this museum as you have done a superb job which I found interesting and informative

My wife and I toured the Museum as we passed thru Wilno. Very well done! Consists of a series of small pioneer buildings exhibiting how the first Polish Settlers to Canada lived in the mid 1800s..

The Polish Kashub Heritage Museum & Skansen runs along the road in Wilno, Ontario, is easy to access, is well-presented and is thorough. We were 2 couples who greatly enjoyed learning about the 1840's arrival of Polish immigrants to the Wilno area and who appreciated the lengths to which the museum presented both the travails and the successes and the heritage of the ancestors of this part of Ontario. The house, especially, had the total feel of being in the past, and the books about families, along with the traditional costumes hanging in the closets and the musical instruments made it all come alive. What we found very touching were the stone monuments engraved with the names of forebears, along with the message, "Thank you from your descendants.". Besides being so informative for adults, there was lots for children to find interesting, including the little schoolroom and the photo-masquerade-costume box! The whole experience was well worth the stop.

This is a place where you can see How Canada was founded. People from around the world were looking for a politically safe place to work. Wilno is the oldest community made by immigrants coming from Poland. Place worth visiting to see a touch of old Europe on the side of Canadian wilderness. This is Kashub Heritage Museum

We've driven by several times and not noticed this museum but it's definitely worth stopping and spending some time visiting. It's well maintained and full of interesting artifacts.

This lovely kept Heritage Museum is a wonderful way of learning about the Polish culture in Northern Ontario. The buildings and grounds are meticulously maintained and the actual artifacts are interesting. It will take approx. an hour to look at the few buildings and salvaged tombstones as well as other Polish artifacts. There are rest rooms and the walkways would be suitable for a wheelchair, however besides the buildings it is an outdoor venue. After looking around be sure to visit the tavern/restaurant across the road as well as the lovely Local artist gift shop to remember you stay and make it more of a day trip.
