1250 René-Lévesque, conosciuto anche come Tour IBM-Marathon, è un grattacielo di Montréal, alto 226m (uno dei grattacieli più alti della città) di 47 piani. L'edificio è stato progettato da Kohn Pedersen e realizzato nel 1992. E' chiamato con questo nome per via del suo indirizzo al numero 1250 di René Lévesque Boulevard. È adiacente al Bell Centre e alla stazione Windsor ed è collegato alla stazione Bonaventura della metropolitana e alla città sotterranea. E' caratterizzato da una sorte di "barca" sporgente che lo rende subito riconoscibile. Occupato da uffici non è visitabile all'interno. A pochi metri da Place du Canada e da dove alloggiavo. Allego un paio di foto. Molte recensioni che mi precedono parlano d'altro...

One of the tallest buildings of Montreal. Went on a business trip to one of the offices in this building. The view from the higher floors of the building is breathtaking.

The rooms are clean and modern. The dining room is e cellent for the price. Rooms a bit pricey but I was there at the height of tourist season.

What a pleasant surprise in the heart of the city a hotel with real people who really care about their guests. From the moment we arrived until our departure two nights later we felt like our business meant the world to this Marriott. The breakfast in their restaurant was fabulous, friendly, speedy. The coffee bar in the lobby a real treat. Front desk staff, concierge staff, door staff - EVERYONE - took every opportunity to ask if they could help. Their recommendation to take a taxi rather than drive was very appreciated. Free maps, suggestions, information, smiles and graciousness were abundant. Well done!

Antes de viajar a Montreal tomé como referencia para el viaje el boulevard René Levesque. El colevtivo que nos tomamos en el aeropuerto nos dejaba en Levesque y Peel y después tenía que caminar 2 o tres cuadras. Sea donde sea que uno vaya es bueno ubicarse a partir de esta avenida, si es la primera vez que viajas a Montreal (porque el colectivo recorre toda Levesque hasta Berry-Unquam). Y de ahí uno camina hasta donde va. Además es un muy lindo boulevard con edificios modernos y alguna que otra bella iglesia. Buscando la pronunciación de Levesque en internet en Wikipedia, me llevó a buscar quien fue René Levesque y encontré un documental fascinante de él y su competidor esencial , el más famoso en el exterior y ex primer ministro de Canadá, Pierre Trudeau. Levesque fue Primer Ministro de Quebec. Vean ese documental. Para mi fue fascinante y una manera de entrar en lo que fue mi viaje a Montreal. El video se llama: The Champions: Unlikely Warriors. Está en Internet, gratis.

This is one of the highest scyscrapes on Boulevard René. Can't be missed if you walking/driving this road. Don't waste time here. It's enough to see it from outside a few minutes and move on. There is better buildings to see.
