Lo ricordo come un locale piacevolissimo, nella parte vecchia della città...un posto dove poter trascorrere del tempo con musica dal vivo, suonata su questo pianoforte Yamaha Rosso un pochino scordato, ma piacevole...da cui il nome, le piano rouge.
Quel che si mangia passa in secondo piano, si tratta praticamente di tartine, stuzzichini...accompagnati magari da una birra...ma l'atmosfera è quella giusta e ne conservo un buonissimo ricordo.

Nous y sommes allés en premier pour un anniversaire. Cette soirée fut agréable et mémorable. Le type de clientèle est mature et respectueuse. La musique soul, jazzy et lounge est très agréable. La deuxième fois, une serveuse, très impolie et froide nous demanda notre commande de boisson. Voulant commander une bouteille, elle nous imposa avant tout le pourboire de 15%. Comme si on allait l'oublier parce qu'on allait être peut être trop bourré!?!? Je l'ai trouvé excessivement insultante mais surtout qu'il faut savoir que le pourboire n'est pas une obligation à Montréal. Ça m'a totalement dégoûtée d'y retourner. Dommage car tout le reste est super sympa.

Performance of the live band was great, right volume so that u coukd also talk, grown up ppl, lounge vibe, not too crowded just right, everybody was having a great time, dancing around. Had a great time and will go back, just please make sure u have enough jack daniels next time :)

Overall a very pleasant stop on our trip to Montreal. Wine a little pricey but great atmosphere and good live music the night we stopped by.

Walking past this bar we were drawn in by the live music. The cover charge was $10 and it was well worth it. There are different groups performing throughout the week. The night we went, Christine Ghawi was performing (jazz, blues) and we loved it! Drinks are reasonably priced for a bar in downtown Montreal and the atmosphere was laid back and casual. The wait staff could be a bit more attentive but the service overall was ok. Would definitely come back for a night out!

We were steered here by our hotel. After charging us $15 a head to get into the door, we were told that we would have to get up off the seats because they were reserved (apparently every one of the few seats available in there), and the people who reserved them were not there yet.
The band started. In their defense, I am from Nashville, where anyone can hear some of the best music of any genre just around the next corner. The "boop bop, be de bop" they were playing sucked. Really, really lame. Maybe Montreal is not the place for live music? We didn't even stay 10 minutes.
On the plus side, the bartenders were cute. Drinks were $ and seemed to be weak all over Montreal.

The entertainment was average, and at times off-key, which was disappointing for a $10 cover. The waitress spent most of her time mooning over a visiting friend. The bar was so crowded that at about 50 people, we had to wait for a seat. The drinks were over priced: $8 for a bottle of beer. This would be a nice find in a lesser city, but in a busy tourist area of a city that is supposed to be known for its nightlife, I was disappointed.

We were seeking out some nightlight in Montreal suitable for those who are not 18 and thus uninterested in the super club scene. We fell upong Le Piano Rouge and it was perfect. We got there early (about 9:30 pm) and caught a small table right up front. The waitress was very attentive and friendly throughout the night.
There was an opening pianist who was just playing random songs until the opening act. The main act was Henri Pierre-Noel who was very reminiscent of a jazz piano player in New Orleans (which makes sense I suppose). He was so much fun and we had a really great time.
