All summer! Towards the very end of August and into September the whales start migrating up to the estuary of the St Lawrence river where it meets the Atlantic to migrate to the Caribbean for the winter. There are 13 different species of whales in the St Lawrence including the largest in the world, the blue whale. I have never seen one in my many visits to the area. To see the whales, if you are able, I recommend kayaking....in a wet suit which they provide. One time I went with the kayaking company right down below the Hotel Tadoussac and a 10+ metre humpback breeched slowly right next to me! That was a thrill of a lifetime! A trip to Tadoussac is not complete without a visit to the Cap de Bon Désir maybe a 5 or 10 minute drive north of Tadoussac along the main route. It's a federal site where one can sit out on the expanse of flat rock by the river to observe marine life. There are naturalist, university student 'interpreters' who are available to give information to the public about the whales...and dolphins, seals etc.. Cap de Bon Désir is a must when visiting Tadoussac. And yes, the 15 minute walking path close to the Hotel Tadoussac is a pleasant walk where you might see some whales breaching; also along the shoreline to the end of the bay where you will see whales.Have a good trip!

La senda es de facil acceso ,no creo que haya problema.Al final estan las rocas donde nos sentamos para avistar ballenas,muy recomendable ; )

J'ai fait le tour en 20 minutes mais il est vrai que si vous ne faites pas la croisière baleines prévoyez plus de temps car on les voit depuis les rochers.

It has two entrances: one is close to the whale museum and the other is further along towards the spit, beyond the docks where the whale watching boats leave from.
