Seascale beach is a lovely unspoiled place where you can walk safely for miles with a backdrop of the Lake District mountains and a view to th Isle of Man...The beach is as safe as the best. It is rarely populated except in the height of summer and has great local amenities...a toilet block and a few shops...A great place to visit and feel welcomed!

Poor sods, Sellafield has rendered the beach hopeless these past 50 plus years. You will not see any locals on that beach, they know fine well of the Sellafield waste pipe dumping crap every day. And as to the hapless folk walking to Furness/ Ravenglass, for Gods sake ..... if only they knew. the muds and silts south of Seascale are the most dangerous. Sellafield never 'made' anything other than bomb material. Its a dormitory town for Sellafield / Windscale nuclear activity.

Visited at low tide and the beach was stunning and totally empty (might have been the very strong winds keeping people away!). The dogs had an amazing time zooming around the beach.
There’s a reasonably large car park right next to the beach and we didn’t have any issues parking.

Awful place! Do not bother. Nothing to see nothing to do. Completely grey, unwelcoming and depressing.
As for Muncaster nearby, even worse! Unfriendly locals who threaten to key your car. Lynch mobs who speed out of their houses to chase you away from the town. Never been to such an unfriendly area…very sad when 9 multigenerational family members drive 7 hours to have a happy time together.

Had a amazing walk on the beach we had the beach all to ourselves from Seascale to Ravenglass ther and back. A word of caution keep your eye on the tides. The best sandy beach is close to Ravenglass it certainly is worth the walk the sand is clean and tidy.

Had a 5 day visit to Seascale with family, I'm sorry to say it was very disappointing. We had a lovely local B & B which was outstanding. Our first morning was down on the front, looks more like a refuse centre but it's recycling. As we parked we were challenged by a woman who asked how long were we staying and that the car park was for locals only. Didn't see any signs as such so we said we weren't staying long. Seascale beach is fabulous, sandy areas, rocky areas, great when the tide is out. We bad an incident where my four year old was knocked over by a couple of alsations running loose and there was no owner about. Dog mess seems to be an issue and it really was everywhere, on the beach in the playpark, on the paths.
The ice cream parlour was closed as was the local shop. In terms of Seascale that was it for us, there was really nothing else, particularly for children. No cares, nowhere to have lunch. Even dinner was impossible, Cumbria Lodge was booked, Calder House wasn't serving food, tried to call the Golf Club but couldn't get through and it seemed to be members only. We went to the hotel above the ice cream parlous but it was too rowdy for children. In fact my four year old got sworn at by some drunk guy in overalls.
We made the mistake to posting a message about things to do in the area on the Seascale Facebook page. It has to be the most hostile Facebook page in the UK. We asked about things to do for children in Seeascale. and got abused. Some were helpful, some were just abusive and told us to go home. There's a lot of angry people in Seascale. One guy was went off on a rant (Adam) although wee did get a few direct messages telling us to ignore him, that he's a moron and regarding as the village idiot. Eventually the entire post was pulled by the moderator. All we did was ask about things to do for visitors.
We spent the next four days around the rest of West Cumbria and Keswick. If you're looking to visit Seascale, a few hours is really fine to have a wander on the beach. We came back to try an eat again but again it was all closed. Calder House were advertising their beer garden but when we went we were told they weren't open until six and weren't serving food. Where do people eat in Seascale other than Cumbria Lodge which was always fully booked?
If you have kids then West Cumbria, Cockermouth and Keswick has a lot to offer but Seascale is very limited. Both my wife and I go t the feeling they just didn't like having visitors. When we came back to the beach on our last day, yet again we were berated for using the car park by some woman being dragged along by about six dogs and clearly making no effort to pick up after them. Toilets were clean. There's no information about Seascale, what's online is out of date, no tourist information, no idea of what to expect. I highly recommend the beach and the ice cream parlour but do avoid the angry locals.

Beach is great, village no longer
Seascale has almost no amenities left.
Most of the car park spaces have been leased to Sellafield by the parish Council.
The shops now number an ice cream parlour/cafe, a Chinese and a Tesco as far as I'm aware.
The beauty salon has closed, as did the butcher, fish and chip shop, pizza takeaway, bank, sea front stores and Pudding Lane cafe. Largely this occurred because of the parish Council actions in leasing the car park and thereby meaning visitors were increasingly squeezed out.
We moved away in 2019. One of my friends visited yesterday, Said she had nowhere to park, shops closed and nobody about. Very depressing.

The beach is probably the highlight of this seaside village/town, nestled in the shadow of Sellafield nuclear plant. We had hoped to get views across to the Isle of Man, but the grey weather and poor visibility added to the sense of an overall greyness of the environment. I’m sure Seascale has seen better days but I suspect not many tourists will be tempted away from the more dynamic neighbouring towns and villages of central Lakeland.

Had a fab day at seascale, lovely play area next to the train station and a great beach. Only one shop which was really lacking in stock and an ice cream parlour which did a fab bacon sandwich! Make sure you have water shoes as a lot of jellyfish on the beach!

The beach is pebble and sandy the tide goes out quite away out , I walked my dog on the beach every morning for a week as did a lot of other people, if you have good weather it is wonderful for families to use.

Yes, all year round.We take ours every day. When the tide is out you can walk for miles. The only place they are prohibited is in the play park. Refurbished Toilet Block just being completed for this year. Excellent Ice-cream cafe with a second minutes away. Hope this helps & sorry for the delay in answering
