J'ai eu l'occasion de faire une dégustation de leur champagne que je connaissais déjà en compagnie de Marie-Hélène, qui a été extrêmement sympathique et m'a fait comprendre la philosophie qui se cache derrière chacune de leurs bouteilles. Continuez comme ça !

Called there at 10.00 am or thereabouts and met the owner and her son which was really informative and great fun. Real artistes in every sense of the word.

Je dois remercier Pierre-Louis, car il a été vraiment sympa et super professionel, chez lui à Avis comme à Modena. Belle famille, grand hystoire de travail et passion. Super cadeau avoir gouté un chose “P.M.G.”, chapeau!

Hun proeflokaal op zich is al leuk en dan kan je ook nog hun champagne proeven en uitleg krijgen zittend in een zetel. Hun champagne is lekker en niet te duur. Voorzie genoeg tijd voor een bezoekje want de eigenares kan blijven praten over hun champagnes (wat ook hun passie ervoor bewijst)

During a visit with three couples we decided to order a crate of 6 bottles each, of the decorated -and of course more expensive- version. The owner hustled the boxes together -we could not see what was placed inside- but we had very clearly stated we wanted the nicely painted version of the bottles.
Upon arrival at home we discovered we were given the ordinary version, even though the price paid was for the expensive version.
We will not visit again.

We wanted to try a champagne house in Avize, and tried this one. The owner was a true original. Artistic, with a lot of character and stories. A true eccentric in a good way. This champagne visit added some colour to our trip. Not your standard tasting room. We sat on an old couch in her living room and looked out the back door at a few vines in the backyard. She told us about their organic methods of growing and their push for doing things a little bit differently and avoiding chemicals and pesticides. We enjoyed the visit.

What a lovely independent Champagne house in the heart of Avize.
As we walked up to the house, planters of bright geraniums and lavender jumped out at us. As we turned down the short drive walking past the families bottling equipment, the sight that greeted us was stunning. Miles of spring time vines glistened in the sunlight, trying to break through the rain that was coming across the valley. It really made for a stunning back drop to this champagne house.
We're greeted by a friendly reception... We hadn't booked but that was no problem.
The first thing that struck us as we walked into what really seemed like a lounge was the beautiful art work, porcelein, jewellery and photos of the vineyards. Next was the ornately decorated chapagne bottles.
We were offered to sit down and tried the first champagne. This bottle had a beautiful label, and tasted so light, and dry. It was the start of good things to come! Over the next hour we tasted 4 or 5 champagnes, met Marie, the owner herself, heard about the company, the growing business of natural wine, and how they now have 2 more shops in London (Covent garden and Brixton market)
We had the most wonderful time and eventually bought a mix of 6 different types of Champagne as well as a box of 6 hand designed glasses.
A fantastic champagne house, with the addition of beautiful art and friendly hosts. Thoroughly recommend.

The nice guide, a very nice girl showed and explained so good the history and principle of champagne, we were entranced. Then she urged us to have a few tastes after explaining and answering our questions. Good tour.

Inderdaad champagne maken is een kunst . Maar Marie Helene is ook een kunstenares, schilderes. We hebben een aantal beschilderde flessen gekocht. Eentje laten feliciteren met haar prachtig kunstig handschrift. Wij zijn daar toevallig binnengevallen op een zondag namiddag en niets was teveel. Over de gite kunnen we nog niet oordelen, wellicht na ons volgend bezoek kunnen we dat wel. We kijken ernaar uit.
