A definite visit if you are in Ceres. The displays and exhibits are well laid our and informative. They have authentic wagons, old hearses and many interesting items on display. Don't miss out on this museum, it only costs R10 for entry and is well worth the spend.

The museum is very small, not that interesting but if you have nothing else to do in Ceres then stop and walk around.
The entrance fee is very cheap, it only has about 3 big rooms of displays.
The staff are friendly but they do not walk around with you.
Not really worth the stop unless you want to take some selfies with some vintage ox wagons.

You really need time to visit this small but comprehensive museum. There are a number of exhibits that contain a lot of printed information on huge display boards - the information needs to be read to fully grasp the detail.
The primary focus of the museum is the influence that the Transport Riders had on the town.
Establishment of churches in the area and the different religious denominations is also on display.
Interesting facts are also shared about the earthquake that caused great devastation in the Tulbagh area in 1969.
Parking can be a bit challenging - I would advise getting in touch with the museum or parking in the main road and taking a short walk to the museum. Take care on route and do not have your personal belongings visibly displayed.

This museum is well curated and maintained. It houses a wide selection of displays related to the settlement of South Africa. It is interesting and worth the visit.
