Utterly beautiful and yet dramatic surroundings. Brilliant staff and fantastic sailing. Good food but limited drinks in the bar. Easy to get to from Manila.
They also do boat trips rental and sailing lessons. (Ask for the RYA instructor if you want the British experience.)
A must place to visit even if not interested in sailing.
A great choice of high-end restaurants to choose from if you choose the scenic route back through Tagatay.

During planning our trip at home I found many people recommending to book a Taal Lake and Volcano directly with TLYC. So we did, and it was brilliant.

The owner provides very helpful information about the tour and booking requirements and his website, and I recommend to read it. We booked the private Calauit Trail (Secret route) via phone with Sonja, and decided to pre-visit the Yacht Club the day before our trip to fix the deal and leave the deposit required.
Elmar the guide, and Edwin the boatman did a great job to make our trip a fantastic experience. Would repeat the trip at any time! We voted for renting horses to get to the crater ridge, and it added to the fun.

Just a tip how to get to TLYC, which is not exactly in Tagaytay, but in Talisay, a few km down a winding road from the rim to the lake shore. We stayed at an AirBNB at Wind Tower (stunning lake viwes from the balcony). We knew that there will be no Taxis roaming in Tagaytay, so the way to go is to hop on a Jeepney until "Rotunda" (10 PHP), where the tricycles are waiting to take you the winding road all the way down to the Yacht Club. If you could manage to get a good rate, and like the driver, you should take down his whatsapp or mobile number for transport back to Tagaytay town, since only very Jeepneys serving Talisay at very late afternoon.

Kudos to Taal Lake Yatch Club for providing us a quality tour to Taal Volcano! We really enjoyed the experience.
We had Kuya Nestor Rosero of Kasily Boat as our tour guide. He is a very good and a well recommended guide.
Again, thank you very much TLYC! ❤️

We had a fantastic trip with our family to the top of Taal Volcano. Jason was a fantastic guide! He knew a lot about the history of the volcano, the local people and even the fish. I highly recommend this tour. We booked it through Filipino Travel Center, and it was a good deal at P3000/person (price for 4 people).

We rode the horses, and I am glad we did because there were some pretty steep ascents on the way up, and it would have been no fun in the heat. (Initially I wasn't going to rent the horses due to some of the reviews, but we had a good experience with them. Plus, Jason shared that the horse rides are the only source of income for the local people, and they actually rotate the horses so they don't get tired out.)

Overall, it was an amazing day for the whole family and a one-of-a-kind experience at the top of Taal Volcano!

Taal Lake Yacht Club offers Taal lake tours even for nonmembers. You can choose between trekking the Regular or the Secret trail each offers a different perspective of the crater. I did the Regular trail which leads you at the top of the crater. They also give you an option to ride a horse for convenience but not a necessity. Transaction were made through a bank and then later presenting the official receipt upon arrival to TLYC. I would commend prompt assistance to queries of Ms. Arlyn thru email and at the front desk. I was assigned with a boatman and a guide both named Jason. After much preparation of the boat, we went ahead to the island. The boat ride complete with life vests made it very safe. Arriving to the island, a noticeable small community has been established throughout the years. After securing a payment for the environmental fee, Jason, my guide started to take on the trail. Majority of the land was roughly rocky and sandy. Uphill was quite a challenge. Heat exhaustion would be your greatest enemy. Bringing at least 2L of water, wearing bright breathable clothes and hats would help. Also, health conditions that would require immediate medical attention should take extra care since there is no medical personnel available. Guides are only trained to give first aids. Rest huts are available every after an uphill hike. Extra water and fresh buko juice are also sold there. So rest if you must. The trail can be dusty when horses are on the trail so a mask is also a necessity. Throughout the hike a detailed history together with stories of how this tourist destination came to be was told by Jason. He was very knowledgeable as he's been doing tours for about 7 years now. Its very interesting to know how people live and still choose to stay in a permanent danger zone. I'm thankful that even though I traveled alone I felt safe since he was known to that small community. Even after reaching the top, Ate Franing, a souvenir seller commented that I was lucky enough to have him as my guide. In all fairness, he was game to take several pictures of me which is good. Its hard to capture a scenery when you're just taking a selfie. The tour lasted at least 3 hrs. You can help the community by purchasing mementos of your trip. Commuting back will take time since only a number of tricycle would pass by the area. Im just greatful that my guide did an extra mile of helping me get to the nearest jeepney terminal. Its an experience that's truly unforgettable. Thank you Taal Lake Yacht Club. Hopefully will be back for the Secret trail. :)

Drove to Taal Lake Yacht Club to get banka and guide for a walk on the island with a lake inside the Taal Lake volcano. Was going to get breakfast in the People's Park in the Sky area, but due to road closures had to go a different route and so arrived at the yacht club having not eaten....no worries, they offer a nice basis breakfast (2 eggs, meat, and toast). Ate and then got banka and guide and chose to go to the "hidden" trail side of the island. It was nice, as only two other people went to that side on the morning we visited (Saturday). The hike is not as steep as the front side and the view is just as nice when get to the top. So while it costs more, is worth it.

My first ever trip to Taal Lake with my adult soon had to be special. He picked Taal Lake Yatch Club based on the reviews and I’m glad he did! The experience was made better by our guide Jason. He was very personable, knowledgeable and most importantly I could tell he cared about the other villagers whose income dependent on tourists. That showed me his character. He didn’t rush at all and shared factoids with us in English since mom son doesn’t speak Tagalog. He took really nice pictures of us and made our experience one of the highlights of our visit to the Philippines.

The Yatch Club may not be the cheapest way to get to Volcano Island but it has clean restrooms (ladies, use it before heading out) designated parking and a guide. Hopefully Jason is available when you’re there!

Bring smaller change for tips and a well deserved fresh coconut at the summit!

The Club offers volcano tours even to non-members. We are a family of four, with two kids below 7 years old, so we took the regular trail, instead of the secret trail. The kids enjoyed the boat ride but not the trekking, so my husband hiked while myself and the kids rented horses. It was a fun experience, even the kids loved it! We grabbed some burgers and sausages at the club after the trip (it will take about 3 hours for the regular tour). Food flavor is good but the price of beverage was almost double retails price, so better plenty of mineral water with you. And best to do the tour early morning, as it can be scorching midday to afternoon. The club area itself offers a nice view, with a wooden bridge that our kids enjoyed playing in and taking pictures of..

I just spent a wonderful afternoon sailing a Laser at the Lake Taal Yacht club. As an avid sailor, I have found it’s unusual to actually be able to sail while traveling. Most resorts or rentals have the odd sunfish or windsurfer but never a performance sailboat , and Olympic class racer, like a laser.

The welcome from staff was immediate and sincere. Minimal paper work was required ( basically a few signatures and email address) . Enjoyed a cold San Miguel while my Laser was being set up. A smooth launch from the beach and I was underway. I own a Laser in the Bahamas so the boat was very familiar though now on fresh water. Light winds initially but then 15 knots of steady breeze let me tack the afternoon away.

Nice showers, reasonably priced food and beverages with good service and attentive canine and feline companionship made for a nice end to the day.

It’s an easy trike ride down from Tagaytay . A screen shot of the map/ directions can help get you there. Highly recommended!
