Lots of history and fantastic carvings made with a chain saw all along the 2km walk which takes in the saw mill, actually the whole Koondrook area is lovely. The place where the Gunbower Creek meets the Murray River, we loved it

THis is a relatively short walk alongside the Arbuthnot sawmill. There is a well protected walkway alongside the mill, with several of the many wooden sculptures there. Historic and interesting

Very interesting to watch how big logs were very quickly broken down. The manager gave a very good description and answered any questions.

An interesting spot to walk through. The smell of the timber and the sound of the birds... great combination. A piece of history!

There is a walking track around the river which passes right through the sawmill where you can hear them hard at work they make railway sleepers out of red gum there's piles of graded sawdust and hundreds of logs.

It's well worth a visit because they are not many of them left. It's possible to walk through the sawmill. We were there at the weekend, so it was closed.

Although we were told by the local Information Centre that we could do a tour of the mill on arrival we were told only bus groups who had booked could do a tour. For $5 we could of self guided tour . This entailed just going into the mill and watching the machines slicing the trees. Certainly not worth using your holiday time to see.

River Red Gum Sawmill is a very interesting place to visit and established in 1889 is still a work in progress. A tour of the mill is worthwhile as is a look in the shop which has some lovely wood articles

The sawmill is 120 years young & still in work producing great wood of all sizes. Wood from here is on display as the Status carved along the area from Koondrook to Barham which are excellent.

A visit to the sawmill if you are in the area is certainly worthwhile, lots of history there as well. After you have been there, take a stroll along the river edge and see all the statues that are carved from wood - excellent.
