this cruise on Gunbower Creek was a great and informative journey through a tributary of The Murray River. However due to flood damage within the creek areas and a less than helpful council the operator is finding the continuation of his business very difficult.

If you are in the area do not miss out on this amazing experience. .we took an evening cruise and it was just beautiful..gliding down the river so smoothly that you could see the mirrored reflections of the trees on the water..looking over the edge into the water those reflections seemed to go on forever..quite surreal..it was so peaceful ..

This dinner cruise was a 10 out of 10. The meal was spot on and the scenery magnificent. The staff were very welcoming and friendly. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend this tour.

This was my second trip onboard the Wetlander- the first for a Xmas break up & this time we took some family members along for a dinner cruise. It was a very hot night and was thankful for the air conditioned cabin although the way the seating was set up we felt quite crammed in and it also meant 2 out of the 4 in our group travelling backwards with limited view so we swapped seats for the return trip. I feel the seating works better as 2 long tables running the length of the vessel - but that’s just my opinion. The view from the roof was fantastic but we had to go back downstairs because it’s limited to 35 people and was over that. The lights on the gumtrees make it a very enchanting return trip but unfortunately there was no light on the rear of the boat which restricted what we could see. Best spot is on the roof (depending on numbers) and at the very front of the boat but there’s only room for a couple of people. Food was not as good as last time - large bowls of potato salad & coleslaw were put on tables to serve yourself with either chicken or steak. Pretty basic for price paid. I understand the kitchen staff are working with limited facilities but felt meals were quite ordinary. Considering how unique these wetlands are I believe more commentary would be beneficial - at one stage the skipper pointed out an Aboriginal ring tree but said he didn’t know what the significance was- felt this was pretty poor effort.

A group of us from the Peugeot Car Club went on an evening cruise around the Gunbower Island and wetlands. Gunbower Island is the largest inland island in Australia. It was very picturesque with the lights from the boat making the gum trees glow and the highlighted trails of the insects around the lights was like a fireworks display. We enjoyed a delicious meal and the bar was open for the beverage of your choice. Everyone commented on how much they had enjoyed the experience!

Gem of an experience, not well-known to travellers outside the local region. Superb views travelling along Gunbower Creek, peaceful and calm experience. Very scenic watching the reflection of the trees mirrored in the water . Recommend going up to the top deck for better views of the creek. The salmon, avocado and eggs muffin, and bacon muffin, were absolutely delicious. We had a most wonderful breakfast. Kids were kept happy with the pancakes and strawberries. Complimentary tea and coffee and biscuits provided. Lunch and dinner cruises also available. Jim's one of the best hosts we have met, very helpful, friendly and very passionate about his job and boat. Being new to the area, I appreciated his commentary. Efficient table service from the other staff on board. Highly recommended experience if you are travelling in northern Victoria, along the Murray river region, or visiting Swan Hill.

We had a very enjoyable cruise on the 'Wetlander' last week. It was the first for the season, the vessel itself is very well appointed, with plenty of seating inside and the ability to go onto the top deck or front of the boat. The lunch we had was very good, and served quickly.

The Wetlander Cruise was one of the highlights of our two day work event. Jim and the kitchen ladies were fantastic. Everything was set up, they looked after all of our dietary requests and brought over 40 meals out quickly and quietly while presentations went on. Great service and scenery, thankyou.

Very relaxing trip down the river and a terrific narration as we went. The scones and jam and cream for morning tea were delicious. Our group really enjoyed the outing

We took a tour group of 20 on the dinner cruise as recommended by the Barham Motor Inn. The food was lovely and the cruise was serenely beautiful. Jim was very knowledgeable and obviously passionate about what he does. Everyone loved it. Would definitely recommend the evening tour as it was so lovely watching the sun set and then cruising after dark.
