Genoten van een wandeling van 10 km in dit afwisselende nationaal park! Tot aan het strand gewandeld en daar lekker geluncht!

Comme je logeais près de Santpoort Zuid, j'étais éloignée de l'entrée principale du parc qui se trouve à Overveen. Il est vrai que cette entrée sur la piste cyclable numéro 20 est intéressante parce qu'il y a un parking si on y va en voiture et il y a aussi l'Office national du parc. Mais le nombre de circuits à faire dans ce parc national sont tellement importants que finalement on trouve différentes portes d'entrée pour accéder au parc. Je suis même restée finalement plusieurs jours afin de voir la diversité de paysages qu'il y a dans ce parc . Depuis Overveen il y a la boucle la plus recommandée qui emmène jusqu'à Bloemendaal aan zee afin de voir la mer. (Option une : on peut descendre tout le long de la mer jusqu'à la ville Zaandvoort, mais je la recommande peu c'est extrêmement venteux et donc difficile d'avancer et pas très joli) et à partir de là je vous conseille de revenir un petit peu sur vos pas. Vous trouverez le chemin Ingang Duinpieperpad, qui traverse les dunes de part en part. La route est goudronnée c'est génial à pratiquer et le paysage est fabuleux. Vous pouvez poser les vélos à un moment quand vous voyez des poteaux avec un marquage jaune, c'est un chemin piéton que vous pouvez faire afin d'observer les bisons. Une fois les dunes intégralement traversées vous irez à gauche afin de retourner à Overveen. C'est environ 2h à vélo. Pour prolonger le plaisir en faisant une journée complète, vous pouvez prendre la piste de vélo 37 puis 36 afin de faire une grand boucle historique avec les maisons d'époque et de pêcheurs dans le Koningshof. Et avant d'arriver à overwin je vous conseille de vous perdre dans la forêt au niveau de Middenduin. Le paysage change complètement, il est magnifique avec des champs marécageux une partie de forêt et surtout un autre accès pour aller à un plan d'eau afin d'observer les bisons qui se reposent. Il y a un parking à vélo et ensuite on peut continuer dans les chemins piétonniers, il y a plein de bancs pour pouvoir pique-niquer ou se reposer. Avec les enfants on peut continuer sa route en prenant la piste 19 afin d'accéder au petit lac sauvage Het wed, pour s'y baigner ou flâner sur la plage. c'est très grand et très bien fait, il y a même des accès pour des activités pour les enfants, des toilettes, des food truck, c'est vraiment chouette. La boucle de Caprera par Bloemendaal est très belle également et très appréciable parce qu'il y a beaucoup de forêt et donc très ombragé. Et la petite boucle depuis Bleek en berg autour de Oosterplas, et très bien fait également mais pour du pieton par contre. C'est très sablonneux, très ombragé, beaucoup de joggeur•euses viennent y courir ou bien les promeneurs avec leur chien, le lac est apaisant, sauvage, reposant et beaucoup de locaux s'y baignent. Ce parc national pour ma part ça a été la pépite du séjour. Pour les vélos ça peut être un peu compliqué à comprendre au démarrage. Ce qu'il faut savoir c'est que sur la pancarte le numéro tout en haut sur un fond vert c'est le numéro de la piste cyclable sur laquelle vous êtes, et les numéros de piste qui suivent en dessous sont celles vers lesquelles vous vous rendez par la suite si vous suivez les directions indiquez sur ce même panneau. Je joins la carte cyclable et piéton en pdf sur TripAdvisor mais si vous préférez une version papier tous les offices du tourisme les revendent entre 2 à 3 €.

Fantastic day trip from Amsterdam. A short walk from the Overveen train station through a lovely little town. The bicycle rental service was convenient and bicycling through the park was a pleasure.

Immense parc sauvage avec des pistes tres bien aménagées. Quelques chevaux et vaches des higlands, canards et autres poules d'eau. Les renards et biches n'étaient pas de sortie ce jour ! Dunes, lacs et grands espaces parfois venteux ! Nous avons loué les vélos sur place sans réservation préalable un mercredi (13,5€), vous pouvez prendre en photo la carte du parc si vous ne souhaitez pas l'acheter ou la télécharger. Tout est très bien indiqué. Acces au parc gratuit mais parking payant !

The landscape is very varying. There's patches of woodland, sand dunes, little lakes, wetlands. Then there's a lot of wild animals, several different breeds of birds, wild horses, rabbits, cows... I recommend the bird watch hut at the "Vogelmeer".

Het park is goed toegankelijk. Verschillende ruiter-, fiets- en wandelpaden zijn goed onderhouden en je vindt af en toe een bankje.
Aan verschillende kanten toegang tot het park en er zijn overal wandelroutes uitgezet. In de winter zijn niet alle paden bereikbaar door de hoge waterstand.
Vorig jaar zelfs een witte Hooglander gespot! Daarnaast paarden, herten, reeën en veel vogels. En in de herfst en winter veel paddestoelen te vinden. Het landschap is zeer afwisselend: water, bomen en natuurlijk veel duinen.

We did a cycle trip through this national park and it was wonderful – I've never been to a place where you can cycle through a landscape of sand dunes before. The cycle paths were very well tended and maintained, and we got to see a lot in just an hour or two of cycling.

take a train to Haarlem station. catch a bus (bus station directly across the street from Haarlem station) to zaandvort an zee for the beach, or to the National park I mentioned for woods, ancient dunes and wildlife, hiking. I have forgotten the bus numbers though. ask in the station.

No, but they do refer you to 2 different opportunities to hook up with horseback park rides (look within the "horseback riding" part of the park's webpage - which Tripadvisor won't allow me to post here - sorry about that.)

It says on the national park website that you can rent bikes at:

Or you can rent a bike in Haarlem. For instance: Rent a bike Haarlem (google for the excellent website) and cycle to the national park (12 minutes bike ride from the rent-a-bike place to the visitors centre of the national park)
