Deceitful Practice

Hello, my (now) wife and I had scheduled our wedding here for October of 2020, and had just sent over our deposit to hold the venue about a week before the country shut down. No contract was ever signed, and the staff at Loughcrew refused to issue a refund whatsoever. I believe the words were, "we aren't in a position to issue refunds at this time." I made it very clear that we were not interested in scheduling a later date several times, yet they kept referring back to that. My wife and I opted to get married elsewhere and work on starting our family, rather than put our lives on hold indefinitely. We were notified by our credit card carrier that Loughcrew sent in a response to our dispute saying that the services were provided. Those documents were received by the credit card carrier in June, and the services were't to be rendered until the following October. I understand the industry has taken a hit due to Covid this year, but it is no excuse to literally rob unsuspecting couples. We would have been delighted to receive half the deposit back, but after the deceit and the waste of time involved nothing other than a full refund and an apology could possibly avoid litigation at this point.

Fun for all the family

We went here on a whim and safe to say we were impressed with the fairy trail, shame that the walled gardens and zipline were shut , I think the entry fee was a little bit steep for what it actually was

Thoroughly enjoyed our morning at Loughcrew earlier this week- our instructor Jamie was so brilliant and the kids absolutely loved all the activities in fun relaxed atmosphere-we joined in for all the fun but for those parents that want to stay dry avoid the assault course!!
Have to say this place feels like a hidden gem, not to be missed!!!
Recommend for kids from 6/7 up , family day out/school tour/corporate team building.

Excellent adventure day - perfect for teens

We were a group of 10: 3 adults and 7 teenagers and we booked a half day (3hours). Angus was our guide. First we discussed with him the types of activities we were interested in doing - we are two families of athletic youths and we wanted group challenges. We started off with the witches ropes (great fun and you have to work together) and then we did a rope challenge which was more of a mental figuring out type of task - again, we had to work together. Then we did competitive archery which was a lot more fun than I thought it would be. We did an assault course which was wet and muddy - exactly what we had in mind. We knew we were expected to bring a change of clothes. We did the rock climbing wall and a very physical rope course through the woods. Finishing up with the Crannog challenge (both mental and physical challenge) was perfect as we all got soaked and then we could go change into our spare clothes. Brilliant fun. Highly recommend. Angus listened to what we wanted and tailored the day to suit us. Thank you Angus!

Unsafe apparatus / replace urgently

Mini muckers course great for young kids but i this visit my friends 3yr old stood on a wooden platform by the pond and his leg went through it he was stuck for 5/10 minutes staff not much use in the situation but child ok in the end but seriously platform rotten needs replacing as serious safety hazzard so please spend the time/money on updating/replacing your mini muckers area / also outside cafe furniture table rotten through has been repainted but getting shabby through wear/tear its a shame as one of my favourite places to visit with my kids

Fun for kids, easy to fit into sightseeing schedule

I brought my children here the day we saw Trim Castle, and it was a great experience. The guide was wonderful with them both, and they had fun on the rock wall, zip line, and obstacle courses. The guide was careful with safety equipment. It was a fun way for the kids to work off energy between seeing other sites in County Meath.

Easy to find with phone map, ample parking, and the Loughcrew Gardens restaurant onsite was wonderful and convenient. Both of my kids want to return.

Fairyland delight

Brought the grandkids here for a bit of fun and think maybe we had as good a day as they did! From the warm welcome to the helpful advice at reception we never stopped laughing and smiling at the excitement as the children ran around. There is a fairy trail book supplied with things to find and a questionnaire to be filled in.This is the best fairy garden we have ever been in and I refrain from revealing any details for fear of spoiling it for others. Entry fees are very reasonable and you end up back at the restaurant were we had delicious chocolate cake. A full menu is available and we will avail of that on our next visit. Yes, we will be back. Highly recommend this place for families with young children.

Our kids had a fantastic time here. Literally hours of fun. They all worked together on some of the task and enjoyed trying to beat each other at others. I highly recommend it for older kids!

We had a super afternoon in the snow! Thanks to Killian and Fergal for keeping us warm!
Really enjoyed the Zip Line and snow ball fights... Highly recommend, even in the cold. The soup and sambos afterwards were also excellent!
