A word of warning! Loughcrew House is not open to the public. We entered through the gates to Loughcrew House. There was no "no entry" sign outside the gates, we completely missed the sign which is inside the gates, tiny white lettering on a pale green background. See photo. The owner approached us and was very intimidating despite our immediate apology for our genuine mistake. He told us he was being paid a (insert swear word)ton of money for use of his house as a wedding venue and that we needed to go to Specsavers if we did not see the sign. I was left very shaken by the incident. Beware!

Although the lights and the gardens are lovely., we paid almost €65 for a family of 5 and walked through the gardens in 30mins. Very overpriced for what you are getting.

Lovely gardens with an Alice in Wonderland trail in it at present. Much of the artwork has been created from waste so is very interesting. The gardens themselves are attractive with an ancient yew walk.

Went here for the Enchanted Garden Lightscape Alice in Wonderland. Very disappointing, overpriced at almost €20 and a booking fee and only took ten mins to walk around. Better off going to the Dublin Zoo Wild Lights.

The gardens are situated about 2kms from the Loughcrew Cairn T. There is a small coffee shop at the front where you pay to access the gardens (€7 for adult). The gardens are small but make for a nice walk around. There is a fairy trail for children to enjoy. Towards the end of the walk you come across the family church of St. Oliver Plunkett. it is mainly ruins now but still nice to walk around.

Our daughter got married at Loughcrew Estates in Oliver Plunkett's Church Ruins July 27, 2019. This was a beautiful location for a wedding. Everyone enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere. She did all the signs and we did the flowers. It was really perfect with the setting. The scenery was beautiful. The house was great for the Bridal Party to get ready for the day. The area for the reception was warm and welcoming to all of our guests. It was really a memorable day.
