This little park is neat as it offers a view of the YVR runway and has a little world globe that you can walk on top of... good for younger kids,

Larry Berg Flight Path Park is directly in line with the end of the south runway—making it a prime location for plane spotting, picnics and playing in the park. Kid can walk on the globe and "explore" their world! On a clear day you can see all the surrounding mountains, count the number of planes landing at the airport while you are there and see if you can tell which airline and what make of the planes!
Parking is limited so be prepared to walk here if you have to park elsewhere!

this is located on Russ Baker way before gilbert very close to the fire department. it’s a small park with a small children playground. it’s good for kids to run around and it has good viewpoint of the YVR runway if you are into plane watching.

This small park (mostly parking lot) sits on the South runway of Vancouver Airport. Check the airport website or flight radar on directions of take off or landings on the day you want to go hang out. In spring and summer, the South runway may be mainly for West take-offs towards the water. On the day we went in June, most of the incoming planes were landing on the North runway, coming in over the factory outlet. What this meant is that Berg Park gives you a view of a plane taking off a half kilometer away and, given the wind direction, a steady hit of jet fuel fumes.

taken by boys a couple of times. great for young imaginative minds at play with the 'runways'. Addition of the globe makes for a little more. Lots of scenery and plane trivia.

We had half an hour to spare on our way to the airport by car so stopped off at Larry Berg flight path park. Our two boys (3yrs and 18months) had loads of fun climbing on the massive globe and pretending to be planes, flying over the countries and running on the long makeshift runways. Parking was free and easy and the park is 5 mins from departures terminal.

This viewing area is awesome to watch the big planes land as they approach just 80 feet above your head. There is a little park that young families enjoy walking over the little balls and globe. Lots of parking in the parking lot and along the road.

There is a small parking lot for those "bird watchers" along Russ Baker Way parallel to the landing strip at the South Terminal. The incoming and outgoing flights flying right over Larry Berg Flight Path Park (some so low that you think that you can reach up and touch the landing gear

Not sure why people want to sit parked off of a busy road near airplanes. That's all this is. Its not a "park" really. Its just a spot that they decided to put a few things since people were already parking there on a regular basis to watch the planes. Skip it.
