Fun day trip for kids to learn about the workings of an actual farm. $30 per family of 5.
Kids enjoyed shovelling feed for cows, walking through the milking barn, viewing the automated pooper scoper that generates electricity for the barn and cow-back massager. Petty zoo goats have access to the roof of the building from their stall.
Highlight was seeing a cow self-determine when it needed milking by a robotic milk machine. Took a stroll through the grass shed where all the feed is grown and had a nibble of the sweet sprouts. They feed chickens, sheep, donkeys and a minipony before the “amoozing race” stations for a prize upon completion. Treated kids to home made ice cream (flavours available: coffee crunch, Caribbean Coconut, mint chocolate, M&M, bubble gum, triple berry etc.) at a reasonable cost. Picnicked on the lawn afterwards.
Recommend: more hand sanitizer between cow barn and grass barn
Overall very enjoyable for all ages.

our kids(8 and 5) loved the stop. Milked a pretend cow, saw the robot milking machine the poop zamboni, they thought was funny. We were there in time for milking a few cows and pet a goat, donkey, pig, goats, sheep and turkey.
They learned and loved it....plus finished the visit off with a tasty cinnamon bun!

This is our first visit at this farm and we need to book it ahead of time. We enjoyed our tour and learned interesting topics how they are taking care of their cows, how we got our milk from the store, they have a robot milking a cow, what is the benefit of cows poo nothing goes to waste. We also love the goat at the rooftop, mini petting zoo and we can feed the animals by buying food at the cashier it cost a dollar or ????two.
They also have a stunning view at the back of the farm. One thing, we miss is their ice cream stand the store is only open during summer till second week of September. They have a Covid policy in place and we felt safe. Highly recommended.

This place is making a push to educate and upgrade to modern diary practice by allowing their animals to be milked on demand and give them good hydroponic grasses. (Although its so weird as the farm sits adjacent to a Subway and the busy road. I feel the push of development on our farms and this is tragic, the valley has some of the most fertile soil in the world and we keep building malls all over it!) The chickens roam in the yard and look super healthy and fit. All the animals are kept in good shape. Unlike other farms that have no care for the well being of their animals, and old practice is aligned with treating animals like machines instead of living creatures, this farm is transparent in their efforts. The ice cream is great, coming from about 4 or 5 adjacent dairy's and made off premise, it is still local. The market is not part of the Eco Dairy, but its a perfect collaboration. I bought cantaloupe grown in BC and it was the BEST and sweetest melon I have ever had. I love supporting local food produce and this was a good place to see. Very kid oriented. I wish there was more room for grass fed, free range though. The U pick had blueberries and sweet domestic blackberries to pick.

For a small fee you get an insiders view of a working dairy. The cows are content. They eat as much as they want, whenever they want and are robotically milked whenever they feel like it. I think their beds were more comfortable than my hotel bed was! You even get to to see their vertical garden. Great educational and fun tour.

Beautiful scenery, fun tour, & great fresh food at the market. If you need a rest stop during your travels, this would be a great place as there is open space, picnic tables, & a you pick!

This Dairy was so cute and so fun! For a paid tour you get a short and sweet tour of the actual dairy barn and get to meet some of the cows, as well as getting to watch the robotic milker "Robbie" at work. The cows are all super happy and well cared for, and because of Robbie can be milked 24 hours a day whenever they feel like they need it. Afterwards we walked around the property and they also have a petting area with turkeys, pigs, goats, and a few other miscellaneous animals, as well as having UPick berries, a chicken barn, a beef barn, an area with sheep, and you can go up and pet basically any of the animals. You can also go in and see how they grow the food for the cows, which is done super sciency so it's fresh year round.
They ALSO serve their own ice cream and have a little market there. Basically I would come here a thousand times.

This is a wonderful place to take your children to learn about dairy farming It is very modern and the way the cows get milked is fascinating. The entry has some great displays and there is a good play area for the children upstairs The petting zoo is good as well

Yes, there is a charge. Please see their website (TripAdvisor does not allow the posting of website links, apparently, so I can't give it to you...sorry. It is easy to find on Google..enter "Ecodairy Abbotsford" and the site will be easily found)
We went in September, and we did not need to book ahead; in fact, we were the only visitors there other than school groups at that particular (early) hour. I don't know how busy it gets on weekends and during peak times, such as the summer.
