I returned to Hells Gate after several years, and was stunned by the change. The place has been taken over by foreign ownership, and they've ruined almost everything. All the staff are Indian. The Fudge Factory only sells cheap hard candy, instead of fudge made on the premises. No more tours. The gift store is full of cheap garbage. And the worst part of all, I found anti-white children's books for sale in the gift shop. Hells Gate is simply no longer a place where a Canadian can go and feel welcome. You will be shamed, and have your country's history insulted, all while having a sub-par tourist experience. Shame, shame, shame on what is happening to our country.

Not worth the price for us. I was there a long time ago when it was reasonable, but I don't think +$40 per person is worth it. We had come back because I had family visiting and we were driving in the area. Yes, it's fast water, but that's hardly unique. And the concession stuff is also quite high priced. No, you can't get to the water here without going through their access point.

For the money you can also eat very nicely. We are more than disappointed, rather angry and mourn our money afterwards. Just ridiculous to charge $38 per person for it.
You can best stop in a parking bay beforehand and look at the river is much cheaper. A gondola goes down and there are shops there, not even a reasonable restaurant but sandwich and soup. As a hobby angler, the place is not worth it at all and we cannot recommend it to anyone.
Since you have to give 1 point when reviewing, this is supposed to be for the parking lot, because you had enough space with the camper to park.

Very disappointed by how run down this has gotten. This used to be a great stop, but it has not been kept up. Deck boards are rotting and need to replaced. Restaurant had an extremely limit menu. Our family was looking forward to the fish and chips and were disappointed that neither were available this year. Selection at the Candy store and gift shop was like a dollar store and no fresh fudge was available. It is a missed opportunity to have not included local Indigenous knowledge and history included. The information in the fisheries exhibit was dated (e.g. USSR on map) and the colonial narratives in the videos were offensive. I really hope some of the admission fees go towards restoring and improving this landmark.

During the gondola ride over the Fraser River you get a beautiful view. Arriving at the "bottom" you can expect only a kind of small theme park or large gift shop. You can mine gold, use the photo walls, buy sweets and souvenirs and walk across a bridge over the raging Fraser River. This is all quite nice, but I find value for money a bit difficult. The prices for the gondola find is somewhat overpriced for what is offered.
Would I do once when you are in the area was also funny, but I had no ambitions to come again.

And there was almost nothing open at the bottom shops. Everything seem empty and or abandoned. The tram does give you some good opportunities for photos and the same with the bridge at the bottom, but certainly not worth the price of admission.

The Fraser Canyon has awesome scenery, so don't waste your money at Hell's Gate. Unfortunately, once a great way to spend the day has become a huge waste of money. Trust me you will be disappointed! There is nothing left once you get to the bottom, except a few signs explaining about Hell's Gate. The restaurant is closed, the fudge factory has no fudge (except some pre wrapped pieces from who knows where), they no longer show the movie (because the TV is broken) and the ice cream is overpriced. I bought my 3 grandsons ice cream cones and the server was extra careful he did not put any extra except the one tiny scoop on top of the cone. They also have put up signs in the washroom, saying don't drink the water. But, not because there is a water advisory, they just don't want you to refill your water bottles. Furthermore, they have done no up keep to the general grounds, the garden beds were all weeds. Even the wishing well, had no water in it. Most importantly, the staff/owner tell you none of this before you pay your money to take the Tram. And when you do mention some of this to staff they just shrug their shoulders. Their website is full of lies. I will not be returning here until new ownership takes over and returns it back to its full glory. In the meantime, my advice is to keep driving by. Stop at Alexander Bridge and have nice walk, picnic. Or carry on to Yale and have a nice look around. Carry on to Hope and look at all the fantastic carvings throughout the town and have a nice lunch or ice cream there. Enjoy the tunnels going through the Fraser Canyon, but don't stop at the Hell's Gate Attraction unless you like being ripped off

The views were amazing and I took many photos on the way down and back up. Loved walking on the bridge to get different views up and down the gorge. Enjoyed the exhibitions about the Chinese workers and the salmon as well as watching a couple of videos

This used to be my favorite place on earth but now it's such a disappointment I don't think I'll ever return. This is my 4th trip over the years and it's clear nobody cares anymore. The money isn't going into this attraction, even at the extreme $110 down for myself and my 2 young kids. First the way down used to be full of energetic and enthusiastic people spewing a wealth of knowledge about the area, no words were spoken by the worker until we hit the bottom then he asked if we had any questions....about what???? Go to the candy store/"fudge factory" that used to be lined and stuffed full with options, nope not anymore nothing really worth while at all very limited almost bare. The restaurant once got a fresh bowl of salmon chowder soup and a fresh grilled burger is now pre made sandwiches (again very limited options) chips and pop. Way back up no words once again but honestly how could any of the three employees speak with screens in front of their faces. It is time to take some pride back to this place, it is crumbling apart as no pride or $$$ being put back into it. All the way from the Fraser River side, back up the mountain to the un- maintained parking lot across the highway, it is just a disappointment. I apologized to my kids after we left as I hyped it up our entire trip and we were all let down.....also the walking overpass over the highway is sketchy at best

Shout out to Tira and her team for a great experience, and amazing service! The Team was friendly, helping, all good and positive vibes 🔥🔥. Even with abit of Rain we had a really cool time. Loved the cold pool the most though tbh, was that waterfall feature lololol. Thank youse again and have a meke weekend.

Has anyone done the rafting down through Hells gate? we would be first time rafters with 2 teenagers....should we be going elsewhere....maybe a lower rating of a rapids? without it being a lazy river :)

I surely wouldn't if you are first timers. I do canoeing and I would not even think about it. Be safe.

Just drove it again yesterday- great shape. Quite a few passing lanes so you don't get stuck behind trucks etc too much. Wonderful scenery!!
