It’s a bridge that’s covered. It’s nice but that’s it. Good shade from heat of the day. I believe it’s over the kicking horse river and not to far from where it merges into the Columbia river.

We stopped by this place for a few minutes to check out the area. It's nice and quiet. There's a path after you cross the bridge and you can jog/walk around the area. There are also benches nearby where you can reflect on your life and have some me-time. It was nice.

Enjoy the views from the brige to the swift clean river rushing below. You are connected to all the great restaurants and shops Golden has to offer.

This is something you really need to know about Golden - there is a river running through it. Whilst this may not seem like an issue, sometimes you need to be on the other side of the river. Just imagine yourself bound to one side whilst the fun takes off on the opposite bank. You wouldn’t like that, would you? Well, worry no more! The kicking horse bridge is here. In a mere fifteen seconds you could be on the other side of the kicking horse river - all it takes is will, for this bridge is the way.
It’s also got a nice story behind it. The folks of Golden banded together just after the turn of the millennium to lay this fine structure, and unite their otherwise partisan town. And what a pleasure that twenty years later we too can step where heroes once stepped - where wood meets water - and bask in the glory that is the kicking horse bridge!

Purposely had this on our schedule as we drove through. This is definitely not worth the stop. Yes it’s photographic but it’s just a bridge. Would not go back here.

It is just a bridge but a very photogenic one and leads to some nice walks along the river plus is close to town.

We loved the pedestrian bridge, I would for sure recommend going there at night as well as it is so beautiful under the lights. A nice walk with many stores restaurants near by.

My wife and I were in town to celebrate our 17th Anniversary. The last time we stayed in Golden was three years ago and we had strolled down the street just next to this bridge without even knowing we were so close...so this time we purposely went to the Golden Spirit Square and explored the pedestrian bridge. It's an amazing work of art and the interesting colour of the Kicking Horse River seems to make the wood stand out even more. There is a walking path connected to this structure and food, coffee, gas, shopping, are all seconds away. We will be here again!

The town of Golden itself is on the other side of the railway yards. You have to drive east about half a mile to the turn off to Golden at the other end of the Highway diners and petrol stations. Take a right and go round the circular bridge. Turn right and after a few streets the old town is on the right before you cross the bridge. If you do cross the bridge have look round as there is lots to see there as well. Then drive back acrosss 5he bridge and take the first on the left and park. Walk toward the river and you wipl find 5he bridge and quite a few other attractions and coffee shops.

I believe the wood is cedar, but not sure, if you go on the Golden Town website I believe they have all that information there for you.
