The L.P. Fisher Public Library has numerous free activities available from children to retired persons. Coming up this week is learning to do belly dancing. I have heard is is a great exercise for the body and a fun thing to do. One more item to take off the bucket list. I am sure there will be a lot more activities to come for all. The staff is excellent.

Friendly staff. A mix of new & old library sections/addition in an old town. Nice looking but uncomfortable chairs.

Une belle place à visiter, jai fait un petit tour et jai bien aimé. Vous pouvez trouver des magasins et vous avez une belle vue pas loin.

The new space, added to the original building, has created more light. Librarians are very helpful and being able to request items from the whole York system and bring in the your local library has increased my use of a great service. My only criticism is only 1 public computer terminal.

Since I work at libraries as a casual clerk, I love visiting libraries wherever I am. I had heard a lot about this beautiful library and was pleased to finally visit. I was not disappointed ! The old part of the building is absolutely beautiful and just what I think of when I think if a traditional library....beautiful woodwork, smell of books and history ! The new addition is beautiful in a different, modern way with lovely naturally lit areas, activity room and plenty of space for a growing collection.

Definatey needs a bigger new book selection but you can reserve one online if they don't have it and they will get it there for you. The recent upgrades are great - it needed it!

This is a great library to visit with lots of children's activities. There is the old section with rows upon rows of old novels ,or a new section with a children's playroom, lounge and classrooms. Recently expanded, it will accommodate everyone's desires in a library. Genealogy is also available. Wonderful place to visit and enjoy!

The L.P. Fisher library will be celebrating 100 years in 2014 and in that year the expansion that will almost double the size will reach completion. The building, and staff are warm, friendly and brimming with both history and information. The genealogy room is second to none.
