Excellent visit to the wolf sanctuary. Thank You Megan for sharing your knowledge.such a great experience. We learned so much about wolf behaviour.

This is a neat place to visit. This was my second visit.
I was happy to see the wolves through the observation window.

We were lucky to be able to watch the wolves going back and forth in their environment (the forest). We particularly appreciated the staff who was passionate about her job, we learnt so much about wildlife. Good luck to the employee who is new on the job!

We visited the wolf centre today
Sorry to say the two wolves seem were in very poor condition very very thin , hip bones and ribs could be seen,one of which could hardly walk , i do understand one was old but no need to be so sick looking , we were told they were loseing there winter coat , in August poor excuse i belive lack of grocereys ,

We booked this back in February online, about a month before the visit we got a call to see if we wanted to cancel or keep our reservation. I laughed since that was the only reason we wanted to go to that area! They had called to say June 21-23 the Wolf Center would be closed to the public because of large school groups showing up & would be noisy! We decided to take our chance and continue with our reservation. Turned out to be a great day!
Thankfully while we were in the wolf center a group of 20 kids happen to show up, quite as they could be and were very respectful. We had no issues & probably learned a bit more since the kids asked questions we didn't even think about. The staff was great, you could tell they LOVED working here! Plus we even saw the pack of wolves on a beautiful sunny day! Couldn't have had a better time! So much information in this building to read and see. Bathrooms on sight and plenty of parking. We stayed for about 2 hours.

We had an incredible time at the wolf centre. Watching a wolf pack in their environment is a unique experience. The centre does not interfere with the pack, they live without human contact or interruption. I highly recommend going in the winter as they are more active. We learned a lot from the staff as well.

Knowledgeable staff and lovely displays. We were lucky to see all the wolves sun bathing near the lookout spot and found out about all their different characters. It’s all centred around wolf welfare and conservation.

DEFINITELY GET A RESERVATION FOR THIS ATTRACTION BEFORE YOU GO....especially in the summer tourist season. There is a LOT to see (...and read...)
here so I would NOT suggest this for pre-school children if you want to spend the time needed to FULLY appreciate all the exhibits.
At the end of your roller coaster rally ride on the KENNISIS AND REDKENN ROADS into the Wolf Centre (BE CAREFUL and PAY ATTENTION TO THE SPEED SIGNS ON THAT ONE!!!!) you will see a group of buildings of the HALIBURTON FOREST RESERVE.
But there is a much-too-small sign on the tree pointing to the right side road which you need to take a little further down to the WOLF CENTRE. Once you enter there is a MASSIVE number of interesting and educational exhibits about nature in general as well as the actual wolves' histories in the preserve. (I NEVER would have thought that deer and moose scat/poop was so small compared to their size!!!)
A shout out to the friendly and very professional Jenn (I hope I got that right!!!) who was a font of knowledge and answered all of the guests' questions no matter how trivial. (Ask the staff about how the wolves use the one-way glass as a rear-view mirror!!!!) There is another viewing gallery near the entrance which I did not see too many people visiting ....and it leads to the "SCAT EXHIBITS".
There is also a small theatre with interesting (and quite unique) wolf-related movie posters on the walls. They also have a variety of informative films about their canis lupus residents.

We had a lovely experience. The interpretive centre was laid out well and was very educational. Due to COVID, access is limited to 1.5hr pre-scheduled booked time slots, and honestly I like this; it allowed us to browse through the information, enjoy the documentary movie and enjoy watching the wolves lounging in the afternoon sun without ever feeling crowded or rushed. Interpretive staff were very friendly and knowledgeable.

Staff was extremely knowledgable of wolves and their wolves in particular. They answered many questions. We were fortunate that the 6 wolves came into our view for a good length of time. We watched a good 25 minute National Geographic movie about wolves in Yellowstone National Park. Very interesting. So much to look at when you visit this centre. Very good exhibits.

Can you bring our dog with us? I assume the wolves are fenced in...

Yes the wolves are fenced in however the Wolf Centre is an indoor facility. As an indoor facility we can only permit service dogs. Dogs are however more than welcome to join their human companion(s) for hiking, biking, canoeing, camping and even in certain pet friendly accommodations. Guests with dogs will sometimes tie their furry friends up outside in the shade with water at the Wolf Centre and check on them from time to time. Reservations are currently required to visit the Wolf Centre so make sure to book in advance.
