My Granddaughter and I had a great experience at Diamond J yesterday. The staff were very professional and very helpful! The horses were healthy and easy to handle...The trail ride and our trail guide Flo 👍👍 .

I had a lovely Spring ride in May, 2022 on a Diamond J Ranch trail ride, through a really nice woods/forest near Picton, Ontario.
All of the horses' feet were well cared for (what I look for first), and they appeared to be well nourished and clearly were loved by the owners and volunteers.
I was with a group of abour 8 riders, all of which except for the guide and myself, were novices. Everyone had a safe mount, ride and dismount, were in good spirits the entire ride, and despite the very very light Scotch mist, had a very enjoyable ride.
I would definitely return for another trail ride with this enterprise.

Can't really rate the experience as we were never able to actually book one. I sent two different emails, left two voice mails and a couple of other calls - attempting to book a trail ride. Never heard a word back from anyone. Not much of a way to run a business.

Unfortunately, we did not get the chance to actually experience horseback riding because there was very important information that was withheld when we called to book a reservation. When we phoned to book an appointment, a very sarcastic woman told me that if we didn't arrive at exactly the time she said, she'd have to kill us.. i get it, supposed to be humorous, but I didn't appreciate it. she was also coughing up a lung, she probably smokes 4 packs a day, but not exactly what you want to hear in covid times. when we arrived the next morning, which by the way, we were coming in from Toronto, she eyed us top to bottom (very uncomfortable), out her hands to her face like she wanted to cry and said "this is the worst part of my job, i'm sorry to tell you you're too heavy for this activity". there were 3 of us, and she made all of us feel like absolute crap, so much so, that one of us actually had to quickly walk out to have a good cry in the car. I asked why they didn't say there were weight restrictions when we phoned, and they said it was because they don't want to make people feel bad, and that often people lie. The worst part is that the woman, Flo, who told us this actually played the part of the victim, saying that she felt horrible, it would keep her up at night... WE drove hours to get there, not HER, WE were told we were too heavy! Please save yourselves time, money, and the god-awful stench of cigarettes and smoke in that ranch. They need a disclaimer on their website and they need to treat people with respect and do proper screening on the phone. Please don't support this business., if nothing else, for the way they made us feel, fat shaming is never ok.

Had the best time. Staff were so friendly and obviously loved what they do and loved the horses. Flo was hilarious and a great guide.. Her energy and all the stories made this relaxed trail ride a lot of fun!! My horse Spirit was well trained and behaved well. Would go again anytime!! Highly recommend!!!

Called and made a reservation for a trail ride as it was the one thing that my daughter really wanted to do on this holiday. Showed up 15 minutes before as we were instructed and the lady says “Did you call to confirm?” I had only made the reservation 3 days before - why would I call to confirm??? What are my chances of cancelling?? IF she had actually told me to call to confirm, I would have. So, turns out that the horses had had too many runs and we didn’t get to go. On a positive note, I found a place that does trail rides near our home for almost half the price. We will be going there instead. This place needs to modernize and take a credit card to hold your reservation like most other businesses instead of expecting people to call back a second time.

Diamond J was a real find in The County and we spent a lovely afternoon on their well-cared-for and well-behaved horses. The trail leader was very knowledgeable, although we might have benefitted from a little more explanation and instruction before we set off. The Diamond J only takes cash so come prepared.

The owners are very friendly: I was late, I called and they changed my schedule without complaints.
The horses are very well treated (you can see it, tequila was my horse), the personnel was awesome.
I have enjoyed doing horseback riding there. J'y retournerai !

My husband and I went for a ride with our tour guide Doug and had a blast. Doug was friendly and knowledgable. The ride through the woods was gorgeous and our horses were well behaved. Staff back at the stables were very helpful and welcoming. Would recommend.
