Building a little neglected. The oval staircase inside is beautiful and magical. But the biggest surprise are the volunteers who explain in great detail the history and secrets of the palace.

We organized our visit to Modena to be in Vignola on Sunday and visit Palazzo Barozzi with a guide. No booking required for small groups. Too bad that in the afternoon of December 29 no one showed up and there was no possibility to contact the volunteers. In case of not carrying out the guided tours, I invite you to hang at least one communication on the door or leave information at the ticket office of the Rocca.

During our visit to Vignola we had the pleasure of visiting this building with the guide Silvia, who accompanied us for an hour to discover the history of this building with the beautiful self-supporting helical staircase

Palace in the town center which can be visited on weekdays. at a cost of 2 euros (children up to 11 years free). The guide who accompanied us told us about the life of Barozzi (son of a shoemaker with the dream of becoming an architect) and what has happened to this palace over the centuries. Truly incredible!! Not all rooms can be visited. It's worth going to visit because the staircase (which is the real point of interest) is truly extraordinary. We thank the association of volunteers who keep such a structure alive with so much passion and love. It's a shame that no one is now interested in this jewel because it would need a major renovation and without it, over time, it could become compromised.

The visit of this palace is certainly to be associated with that of the fortress which it is located in front of. A little modest on the outside, the building which bears the name of the most universally known architect with the epithet Vignola has a beautiful self-supporting staircase designed by him, a true miracle of technique and elegance. There is also a hall decorated with trompe-l'oeil frescoes and other interesting rooms. The lady who acted as our voluntary guide told us everything about this place and it was a truly pleasant visit.

La visita dovrebbe essere una meta d'obbligo dopo quella della Rocca, visto che si trova adiacente all'ingresso. Bellissima la storia sia del palazzo che di Vignola raccontata dalla guida.Si vedeva che "sentiva" quello che raccontava. Soffitti affrescati e la famosa scala senza "appoggio" del 1400, sono le cose interessanti. Dovrebbe avere più risalto... Curioso il fatto che quando si guarda l'ingresso del palazzo, il cartello del nome è piccolino, risalta di più il fatto che ci sia un ristorante Acli con cartello enorme. Da nn prendere!

Scoprire le infinite meraviglie del nostro Paese: la scala del Barozzi è un gioiello architettonico stupefacente, da non perdere assolutamente! Peccato che il palazzo sia decadente e di scarso interesse della proprietà che pare non conoscere la potenzialità di questo tesoro. Un grazie di cuore invece ai volontari che con grande passione ed accontentandosi di un modestissimo prezzo per l'ingresso, tengono viva l'attenzione sul palazzo, raccontando l'interessante storia condita da qualche pettegolezzo sulle vicende del tempo, con l'ironia tipica della gente d'Emilia. Grazie davvero per il vostro impegno e per la vostra simpatia generosa.

Jacopo Barozzi ha un posto importante nella storia della architettura italiana soprattutto per chi ama il barocco.e comunque le sue invenzioni e riproposizioni sono suggestive e magnetiche. La scala elicoidale nella sua città è una delle sue forme preferite e non si sbaglia mai a visitarla
