“Ourika Waterfalls trek”

Don’t rely on the photos. Get clear information about what there is to do and to see. Lower any expectations of experiencing a glimpse of life in the Atlas Mountains. This is100 % commerce and geared up. Understand that any private travel arrangement comes with pre arranged restaurant stop / guide/ souvenir kiosks. We were so disappointed by this short trip - admittedly booked for the last day of our stay in Marrakech - when our dirham was running low. Our driver told us about the cascades - but did not tell us that a guide would meet us and we would be locked in to a 15 Euro guided “ hike” to see them. We had to refuse as I have mobility issues. This is the local “cool “ spot where thousands of people flock in the spring and summer to get away from the heat of the desert. Consequently there are thousands of plastic chairs and tables lining the river- awaiting visitors. Mostly orange. Blue plastic bags, plastic bottles etc are caught in the rivers edge. One road in - one road out. In January it wasn’t too busy - but dozens of vehicles ploughed up and down. Dozens of garish food stops, dozens of guides waiting where the road ends. Luckily the sun shone.

Prenez un guide et faites les 7 cascades.
Vous pourrez profiter pleinement de ce lieu avec votre guide, qui vous fera découvrir cet endroit qui ressemble un peu au Tibet de par la diversité des couleurs que vous pourrez admirer.
Les marocains se sont accaparés la rivière afin d’échapper à la chaleur excessive de Marrakech.
Dans ces affaires au bord de l’eau prenez le temps de siroter un thé à la menthe et ce les pieds dans l’eau….
Pour le reste optez pour le restaurant
« la vallée » c’est mieux !
Pour cette balade au 7 cascades optez pour de bonnes chaussures de Marche ou de bonnes tennis.
Nous reviendrons pour faire les autres randonnées du coin.

Le retour au calme après marrakech...l'authenticité des villages berbères....découvert avec les grands taxis...ça reste quand même touristique...bon moment passé avec un commerçant d'une fabrique de tapis..petit repas dans un resto pour 120dhr avec des singes au bord de la riviere

Das Ourikatal zu besuchen lohnt sich AUF GAR KEINEN FALL!
Es ist touristisch vollkommen versaut!

Gerade im unteren Teil ist jeder mögliche Platz am Straßenrand belegt von Berberteppich -, Töpferwaren- und anderen Devolutionalienhändlern.
Zusätzlich Tourifallen von Dromedar- und Esel-Reitgelegenheiten.
Etwas weiter dann Restaurants, die alle das "authentische" marokkanische Essen anbieten und von denen Männer in Warnwesten versuchen, einen auf "ihren" Parkplatz zu lotsen, den sie gegen Gebühr bewachen.

Nous avons fait la vallée de l’ourika à la fin du mois de juillet,
Cela fait du bien de quitter la chaleur de Marrakech pour retrouver la fraîcheur des montagnes.
Des restaurants typiques sont situés tous le long de la rivière, cela change du côté bling bling de Marrakech ambiance authentique garantie!!
Nous avons pu observer des singes dans la colline c’était vraiment magique

Come distruggere un luogo incantevole

La valle, a pochi km da Marrakech, sarebbe incantevole, rilassante, anche il paesaggio che si ammira per la strada.. se non fosse che.. hanno riempito qualsiasi spazio con negozi di souvenirs e ristoranti! Una volta arrivati alla valle stessa verrete letteralmente aggrediti da decine di persone che si propongono come guida.. non è assolutamente obbligatorio, il percorso, almeno il più breve fino alla prima cascata, può essere fatto in autonomia. Però è veramente troppo, non c'è un angolo incontaminato: negozi, ristoranti, bar, baracchini che fanno spremute, campeggi, odore fortissimo di inceso e a tratti musica assordante, a mio avviso se non viene dato un freno verrà rovinata del tutto, anche perché è sporchissimo, ci sono rifiuti ovunque, soprattutto plastica.

Not for the faint hearted

We went on a day trip to this Valley, had a lovely time there but the walk up to the waterfall is not for the faint hearted or those who may have trouble walking. The path is steep and you're climbing over boulders. There are a few places to stop and a refreshments stall but think carefully before attempting it.
We had lunch in one of the many restaurants that are on the riverbank, food was great and the setting even better....definitely a place to visit.
