I don't like Clubs with mysoginistic doormen who beat women for using cubicles in the mens room simply because the ladies room has a half hour queue. Nobody objected accept the monstrous excuses for men on the door. Utter disgrace.

I like the Fiddler's but doubt I'll go again. Had to miss a third of Nine Below Zero as the band didn't hit the stage till 10.00. Not very rock n roll I know, but some of us have to get last buses or face a massive cab fare. I see loads of 'veteran' bands in Bristol & every other venue I can think of has the headliners on by 9.00 - a civilised start time in my book, especially when you're pushing 60!

Came here for a live music show in November and was disappointed by many aspects of this place, but mostly the lighting. Not sure if this is down to the venue or the band, but the lights stayed on and red all night. Made people not want to dance or relax. The night was pretty forgettable as the crowd just could not get into the vibe of things, no matter how loud it is. Bathrooms are pretty grim too. Drinks not too expensive though. Would come back if I had to.

Hidden away but what a find! Martin Stephenson & the Daintees were playing. How cool was that. No nonsense venue with good bar staff.

Went to see Lee Fields and The Expressions who were very good.
This review is really about the venue and the bar in particular.
Positive: excellent bar staff who worked very hard, acoustics fine
Negative: quality of wine was very poor and no Prosecco; given the existence of single serve bottles this is unnecessary, Amstel was completely flat and saw several customers returning it, Other beers not much better even the Guinness.
This put a real damper on the evening.

I came here to see the 3-nighter with Billy Bragg and the second night I was really suffering from how stuffy and crowded it was. I explained my difficulties and disability to the venue and wasn’t expecting much, but they got back to me very quickly. The guys on the door knew exactly who I was and very kindly took me to a reserved seating area in the corner so I had the choice to sit down if I needed to. It felt a little cooler and I had a little bit more space, so I enjoyed the show very much. It’s hard to find venues that can accommodate “hidden disabilities”, so thank you for making my night so fab, even with just that little gesture. Could have easily been cut short without it!

This visit was for a private function, it was a good venue, quite spacious and the band were fantastic, lots of soul music. I didn’t go much on the beer choice and there seemed to be a lot of staff standing around doing nothing, but I enjoyed the evening very much.

Unfortunately I wasn't that well visiting here. We came to see Julia Holter who would have been better served by a having a seated auditorium. The club itself is spacious with tables and seats and a dance floor area. Drinks choice at the bar not that great although i regret not drinking the Guiness as the owner comes from County Mayo! We had quite a long chat with him - very sociable. I would go there again though and it wasn't hard to find although has an unprepossessing entrance down a side street. It is in face a converted prison for POW's.

Caught Magpie Salute, supported by Maker, great night in a classic UK rock venue. Walking distance from the centre of town. Drinks were reasonable, security good and no “sticky carpets” to contend with!
Both bands were excellent, though the Magpies were dogged by crap sound for the first couple of numbers.
Maker were excellent, and worth looking out for in the future if you like Faces, Stones, Black Crowes etc.
