標高は300m弱の丘ですが、登り切ったところにボーア戦争の戦没者を追悼して建てられた記念碑があり、そこからは北から西方向には遮るものがなく視界が開けています。典型的なイングランドの風景ですが、晴れた日はかなり気持ち良く遠くまで見渡せます。
近くに駐車場があるようですが、ロンドンのMarylebone駅から45分程度のWendover駅からも30分程度のちょっとしたウォーキングで記念碑のところまで行けます。

Great views of the Chilterns and a get away from it all feeling. Walked with a 9 year old and 13 year old and nice easy walking for them also

A lovely place for a short walk with dogs. Beautiful views. Car park extremely busy so may not be room at busy times.

Stunning views from the monument. Lovely walk around. The only issue is that on busy days there is not a lot of parking.

Variety of easily walkable routes from Wendover. Take Ellesborough Road and take the gate on the left hand side as the road bears right. From town centre to monument took about 40 minutes. Lovely views from the base of the monument across the Chilterns.

My partner wanted to bring me here as never been before and OMG it was absolutely brilliant.. Well worth the climb too,. then to see such magnificent views certainly wasn't disappointed.. Such a beautiful monument. Lovely to see the young calf's just on the hillside. Yes parking was a no go but tbf we didn't arrive till early afternoon. So parked by a pub. A very special day. Monument was immaculate!

Decided to pay a visit on way home from Banbury to break the journey. National Trust site with small free car park. Breath taking views across the countryside from the Boer War monument. We saw 3 hovering red kites, some cattle and variety of other birds. In the distance you can just about make out the PM's Chequers residence. A delightful walk, good for the soul. Word of warning, the car park has limited space with little alternatives so get there early to be assured. We arrived just after 10:00 [Saturday] and it was full bar 2 spaces. When we left cars were queuing in the road, waiting for someone to exit. Safe picnicking area and ice cream van there. No WC facilities that I could see.

Visited as part of route on which I led a hike. There was a parking spot nearby and access to paths leading to various locations in the Chilterns. Coombe Hill itself offered superb views from the top across the Aylesbury Vale.

We often walk here and in my mind it is one of the best sections of the Ridgeway walk. The parking could be looked into. Visiting recently on a sunny weekend, 4x4 lined the road up the hill, the car park was overflowing and cars were parked on the verge about half a mile up the road. Drove further down and parked in a layby at the Ridgeway/road intersection. Lovely circular / figure of 8 walks passing Chequers, White Leaf and Butlers' Cross.

I see that the path is good for wheelchairs, but do you know if it s it ok for a mobility scooter please. Back in 2019 I could walk but with great difficulty and lots of stops, therefore didn't enjoy it and I'd like to go back.
Is this a good place to go star gazing ?

It is on the Ridgeway which passes Checkers then crosses the road and then there is a 20 minute climb to the top. The alternative is to approach it on the Ridgeway from the direction of Wendover which is a good half hour walk.
