Very pretty, very good traditional cask ale pub within easy walking distance from Ely Cathedral or Oliver Cromwell's house. Eight cask ales are available on tap, plus some kegged options. While the inside is comfy and spacious, it's really the expansive beer garden to the back that makes the pub special (apart from the very good cask selection, of course). Very good seating in pleasant weather, and the weather WAS pleasant at the time of my visit in August. Service was a bit spotty, but that didn't detract from the overall good experience. A pub you'll visit for both the beer and the setting!

Friendly, helpful staff. Good selection of drinks/wine and varied menu. There were 3 of us having Sunday lunch. 1 x prawn cocktail (huge, more like a prawn salad as opposed to a starter), 1 x prunes wrapped in bacon with a creamy mustard sauce, 1 x belly of pork, both well cooked, nicely presented and delicious. For the mains we had a nut roast, a roast beef and a roast pork, all were plentiful and tasty, particularly the cauliflower cheese which was excellent. Felt the desert menu was a little limited, so did not have one, but overall I would recommend this pub and will definitely return.

Have visited the Prince Albert a few times over the last 3 years and have a very good experience food and service
This visit was a disappointment the overall quality of the cooking was not good and definitely not worth the prices charged - the waiter was v good though just the food was yuk really
On looking on the internet I see 280k has recently been spent upgrading the garden area - complete madness but rather typical of green king what was wrong with the garden area as it was we had a couple of great meals in the garden last year
So unfortunately we’ll have to find an alternative venue for our Ely visits - shame

This is an outstanding pub, a little treasure tucked away in a back street of Ely. Food was so good, a lovely balance of flavours and quality ingredients. Service was well thought out taking Covid into account, highly recommended

This a very quaint, dog friendly pub. The staff provided friendly service. The beverage selection is varied and satisfying. The food was a bit above average.

Just visited the Prince Albert for a lovely meal, a group of 12 adults and 7 children all under 1. Can honestly say the staff were accommodating, food was fantastic. Would like very much to return

Four of us went to the Prince Albert for Sunday lunch. There was a good choice of starters including gravalax with beetroot, soup of the day, mushroom Kiev, which was my choice. It was a very different take on garlic mushrooms and very tasty. Three of us had roast turkey and my choice was beef. It all came with a Yorkshire pudding and a selection of vegetables. The men shared a cheese board to finish off an enjoyable Sunday lunch.

We were kindly permitted to book a whole area of the pub as there was 30 of us and we were well looked after. The food was absolutely delicious and all served quickly and efficiently. I appreciate how difficult getting that many meals out hot and the challenge of serving so many being in the same line of work and they did a great job. A lovely kick off to Christmas for us all.

Met some friends in this pub in the centre of Ely, what a joy...
Menu varied, food hot and tasty and good price. Staff were attentive and helpful.
I had the scallops to start which were cooked perfectly, the presentation was definitely a high point and gastropub describes this pub well.
Food fresh and therefore a little slow, but not a concern.
