Take a walk with Emma when you want to be reminded how much magic there is all around you. Within minutes of leaving the car park we were having a walk and a chat with a friend, a very knowledgable friend. A leisurely circular walk brought us back to the car park but much changed. More informed, more relaxed, more curious. And happier. Book with confidence and thank me [silently] when you finish.

Authentic and amazing

I love walking and finding myself again after a busy time with the kids. Emma is so much herself in her own environment on Dartmoor. Her experiences feel so heartfelt. I can go and chat or be a loner. I love that I don’t need to find people to go with. I always learn something and meet lovely people. Her way of teaching and seeing each person individually is precious. Very rejuvenating without much effort (apart from with the legs!) or being too hard work with being with people you don’t know.

The Walking Whisperer

Emma Cunis has a gift of Mindful Walking... thank you for sharing this priceless treasure.

Our morning sunrise walk in mid-May comprised of the Kestor landscape and included the confluence of North Teign river with the Walla brook. The entire walk will remain etched.

Coupled with Emma's gift of story telling and love of capturing the moment of her Dartmoor heritage in these introspective, experiential walks, I would whole heartedly endorse this experience. The one caveat I have is come prepared with appropriate walking boots, and other trail essentials depending on your level of experience negotiating the moor landscape.

We were so impressed with Emma's knowledge of Dartmoor. She tailors walks to suit interest and capability. This was our second time on the Moor with Emma. We were greeted with hut circles, standing stones, burial pits, way markers, worked granite, processional avenues, wild flowers, ponies and the beauty of the Moor.

Dawn chorus walk

What a grounding and joyful experience. Tony, who’s knowledge on birds is amazing, led us through an enchanting dawn chorus walk starting at 3am! Even though it was pretty dark to begin with during the start while we walked through the woods, Emma was incredibly attentive that you always felt held and supported during the experience. It was such a beautiful thing to witness, to be in the woods sitting quietly and still before the dawn chorus begins, then gradually starting to hear it very quietly in the distance, then getting nearer and louder until you hear the birds all around you - felt very moved by the experience. Also having Tony help identify particular bird song was greatly appreciated as it’s something that I hope to get better at. Thank you!

Dawn chorus walk

A wonderful first experience for me - a guided dawn chorus walk. Thanks to Emma and especially to Tony who was very knowledgeable and took time to make us aware of the different calls made by the birds we were listening to. It was very enjoyable and quite unique, even though walking in the dark was something I wasn’t looking forward to, it made you much more aware of the environment we were walking in.

Wonderful walk on mystical Dartmoor!

We had a wonderful walk on Dartmoor learning about archeology and ancient myths. Emma is an amazing guide who takes really well care of the group and is very knowledgeable!

Outstanding adventure day for our youth project

Emma led a group of eleven young people (aged 11-15) with three other adults on an eight-mile expedition from Belstone to Scorhill. Her planning was exemplary, her safety briefing clear, and her leadership of the walk outstanding. Throughout the six and half hour expedition she took opportunities to enthuse, inspire and inform the young people, including teaching them to cross a (shallow) river-ford. We could not have had a better guide.

If you're coming to Dartmoor PLEASE get Emma to show you around. Sure, you can get all the facts (history, geography, legends) about Dartmoor - Emma knows her stuff - but it's her ability to decipher the true needs of her customers that makes her guidance quite exceptional. I so appreciated the rich conversation we had, walking and talking together. It's wonderful to spend time with someone who's deeply connected to their land, their lineage, and has a passion for sharing it with others.

Brilliant morning all round. Both Emma and Veron are very knowledgeable, easy to talk to and make things very clear. On top of that it’s all at a stunning location. I’d thoroughly recommend this session to anyone wanting to become a little more adventurous in their walks on the moor.
