The new exhibition is now open. The Hulse collection named 'The engines that changed the World'. 8 scale models of 18th and early 19 th century industrial atmospheric steam engines of superb quality. Information boards and films. Well worth a visit.

Very interesting and good value too.

Let’s keep this real. £5 gives you 15 minutes of browsing. It’s not very big. WW2 video can be seen on you tube next to a few collectibles. Lots of models of ships but not much else. I’d of thought I was being robbed at £3. I wasn’t impressed and didn’t feel I learnt anything new.

It's easy to get a local museum wrong, bit this one gets it right in many ways. It's small, bit packed with interesting information and objects, situated in à medieval building. There are four rooms, and a small shop, bit each room is completely different. The ship collection gives you an idea of what Dartmouth looked like in the late middle ages, and is contrasted by the film and artefacts from the US deployment leading up to D Day. The model of the mayflower is fantastic! Big thanks to the volunteer staff who explained everything so clearly.

A superb museum, extremely helpful staff and the scale model of the 'Mayflower' was terrific. The floors are uneven as this is an extremely old building, and this can have an effect on one's balance. The staff are clearly proud of their town and it's history. One of the highlights of my five day stay in Dartmouth.

The Mayflower Exhibition is fantastic. Great information boards, film showing the Pilgrim Father's journey and how the super model was made. The model in in the centre of the room and is cut in half so you can see the inside. There is also a fitted out cabin with a 'porthole' with moving sea. Although small the rest of the of The Museum is well laid out and great for children of all ages. A film showing how Dartmouth was involved in WWII. Children under 16 are free and herbivores than £5 for adults with a concession for OAP's. Very helpful volunteer stewards. A MUST for anyone visiting Dartmouth. If you ask you can be taken to see a unique ceiling depicting the Family Tree of Jesse

Interesting museum with lots of lovely ship models, good videos, interesting displays and clear signage which is easily read. Anyone interested in ships, the Pilgrim fathers voyage to America , local history, or just to see some lovely models will enjoy this museum

Super interesting museum in an historic building. The staff are friendly helpful and well informed. The Mayflower exhibit is particularly engaging and William Henley's study and personal history is fascinating.

This is a great local museum with the loveliest staff you could ever wish to meet.
The model of the Mayflower ship and the story of the pilgrims in the top floor room is excellent.
You don't need very long here, but it is very good value for money with some fascinating exhibits.
We loved our time in Dartmouth and the locals should be rightly proud of both their town and museum.

Absolutely love it.
Amazing.
Entry fee very cheap and mayflower room was wonderful with an amazing video explaining everything a long with a replica of the boat 🛶.
Run very well and would thoroughly recommend.
