Excellent Walking Holiday

I did the Falmouth to Plymouth portion of the South West Coast Path, and it was a great experience. Excellent views over the sea every day and a chance to see some of the coast and towns that you might not get to if you were traveling by car, bus, or train. Some portions of the path could use a bit more signage, so I would not recommend walking the trail without a guidebook and/or digital maps.

A Great Walk Close to Town

I walked the path from the Barbican via the Aquarium towards plymstock and then cut back to town, about 5 miles of fairly easy walking. the pathn is signposted and you can see some public art along the way with good views across the Sound.

the coast path here was varied from flat to rugged and well worth the effort to go the distance . The path is rewarding

Beautiful coastal walks

From Minehead to Poole, the coastal route. Varied and spectacular scenery which shows how beautiful the south west is. Some sections are quite easy, others are really difficult. Make sure you wear decent / appropriate footwear and take some water. A great way to experience fresh sea air and no need for a map. The route is well marked / signposted.

A word of warning !

Having conquered the Polruan to Polperro leg of the walk I would like to state the following : This walk is most definitely NOT 7.1 miles, it felt more like 17.1, when you pass several markers telling you the same distance still to go you know something is wrong, I came to the conclusion that the poor man sent out to measure the distance was either so light headed from Altitude Sickness or had just given up the will to live by that point and forgot to do anything so the middle to the end was just a blur that he made it up after a few strong drinks and a hot bath.

Wonderful coastal scenery and stunning fishing villages

Amazing clifftop walking along, probably, the most beautiful coast in Europe. Added to this is the bonus of some of the most scenic villages in the UK. Do not underestimate the walk - although no great height is attained, the roller-coster nature of the track, as it goes from bay to cliff, makes it still a tough undertaking.

The One Thousand Kilometer Trail

Yep, it is 630 Miles (1020 Kilometers) long.
I started in Minehead and am now in Noss Mayo - 424 Miles Completed, 206 to Go - and I am 32 Walk days into it!
Not sure which part of the trail this listing covers but I figure I'm entitled to review it!!
A great walk, plenty of ups and downs (115,000 feet or 35,000 Meters) and anything but easy.
They say the best things in life are free - well this is one of them.
Enjoy if you get the opportunity.
Number 3000!!
